Aside from people thinking that Trump is more likely to beat a more centrist candidate (which I don’t really agree with), I haven’t seen many people saying they won’t vote for Biden. Most progressives I see and communicate with are definitely voting Biden and encouraging others to vote Biden.
I’ve seen way more centrist democrats whining about potentially not getting votes from Bernie supporters than Bernie supporters saying they wouldn’t vote Biden. Anecdotal, I know, so I’m not sure how valuable that is to everyone.
I guess. I've seen plenty of threads likethis one and very few protestations from Biden supporters (in fact I got very few Biden supporters at all on my feed ever). Could just be who I follow, which is in fact very few people and a lot of institutions, and maybe they tend to follow people at the extremes more to get a feeling for the zeitgeist. I dunno.
At any rate, it's twitter where patience is definitely not regarded as a virtue, but if everyone would chill for a bit they'd probably end up a little happier. Biden will no longer have to set himself up as the pragmatic, moderate alternative to Sanders, and whole he'll still remain pragmatic and moderate that allows him to incorporate more left-leaning aspects of the Democratic platform. And if Biden supporters would give Sanders backers a little time to go ahead and feel bad and disillusioned that their by far first choice once again lost out, they may take the time t discover Biden isn't just a senile rapist and may actually move things slightly in the right direction. None of that is going to happen tomorrow though. Silly to even think you can make the hard core Sanders supporters vote for Biden by making them feel bad. You can hope they at least won't work actively against him, though.
