Yeah. The long line on MSNBC they just showed of students at UT in Austin is most assuredly there for Bernie despite him motivating zero young voters or whatever.

Fits your narrative. Same young voters who showed up in 2018. For Bernie.

Almost 99% percent of Virginia in. Expected a Biden win there but still surprised by the results. Bernie only won JMU and Floyd county.

Looks like we'll have a good Senate race in NC - Tillis vs. Cunningham. The Moscow Mitch ads for Cunningham's opponent didn't work.

Bernie people: even if your guy doesn’t win, you have to vote Bernie for the better of the country and to oust trump.

Fast forward 1 week.

Bernie people: you better hope we show up to vote for your candidate. We may not!

It’s amazing that a few unnamed elites have managed to change the minds of millions of Democrats.

Fine, attribute the plan or lack thereof that fell apart to him. Who cares. It does not change the fact that he supports universal healthcare in this country without the individual mandate. That was the entire discussion point to begin with.

He has consistently campaigned against universal healthcare since getting elected, after verbally stating his support many times in the lead up to getting elected. It's not hard to find speeches, tweets, etc criticizing universal coverage. Why do you think he supports it? Were you just mistaken, or do you believe his recent statements are lies?

Fun fact: upper middle class folks have ZERO interest in Bernie. None.

People are showing up today for the same reason they showed up in 2018. To demand change. And their voice is being heard.

Bernie can blame himself for not spending a single moment trying to grow his base and appeal to others less progressive. Simple as that.

Don’t forget the critical need to unite immediately behind the front runner and that whichever candidate has the plurality of delegates should get the nomination.

If you look at the numbers vs. 2016 (e.g., in VT) you can make a strong argument that Bernie’s base has actually contracted.

VA turnout up 800k from 2016. Guess those long lines in VA didn’t vote for Bernie. Bernie sure did motivate these folks alright to get out and vote!

I hope the Dem candidate wins the presidency and I really hope the Dems hold the House and take the Senate. I’d take that over a Bernie win for sure.

At the same time, I’d be much happier if we had a candidate that didn’t badger Anita Hill (in order to get Clarence Thomas on the SCOTUS), that didn’t vote for DOMA, that didn’t write the 90’s Crime Bill that led to mass incarceration of minorities, that didn’t support the Patriot Act and war in Iraq.

Every candidate has warts. Biden’s are big enough that I’d probably be generally apathetic if we didn’t have the worst president in history in office and a malicious GOP majority in the Senate with a SCOTUS seat coming up.

I wish my state had open primaries so I could register as an independent and still have a voice. I’m registered as a Democrat, but I don’t feel like part of the Democratic Party.

Remarkably so:

Turnout by voters under 30 in Virginia and N.C. is proportionately lower than in the 2016 primaries, according to exit polls.

This is fair. He also did nothing to build alliances and relationships, clearly, even though he knew damn well he was running. He has effectively run the same campaign as 2016 four years later.

Definitely the biggest and most legitimate criticism.

Unintentionally ironic comment from John King: Elizabeth Warren not viable in Oklahoma — the state she was born in.
