I know Iowa is coming up, but if I were a Democrat running for President, I'd make an appearance.

Special for a state senate seat here in PA. Was the republican seat with the child porn guy. Dem was going to lose but he didn't even lose close. Not great.

If Pelosi had sent over the impeachment weeks ago, this Parnas stuff would have surfaced after the Senate trial was done. And there's still a bunch of stuff that they haven't released. She's going to ramp up the pressure and release this as the trial is happening and the senate is going to be forced to deal with it. She's winning, even if they vote to not impeach.

Ummm...

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/20 ... last-year/

It is Hyde’s connection to Parnas that has landed him in the news, and a 2019 police report obtained by Mother Jones suggests that Hyde might have been a peculiar choice for Parnas to work with on his Giuliani-led Ukrainian op. The report notes that Hyde had a disturbing episode at a Trump resort for which he had to be taken into custody by police and brought to a medical facility under a state law that allows for involuntary confinement of people who might pose a risk to themselves.

-----------------

According to an “incident/investigation” report filed by the Doral, Florida, police department, on May 16, 2019, an officer was dispatched to the Trump National Doral Miami to deal with a “male in distress fearing for his life.” That man was Hyde. The report noted that Hyde explained to the police officer that “he was in fear for his life, was set up and that a hit man was out to get him. Mr. Hyde spoke about e-mails he sent that may have placed his life in jeopardy. Mr. Hyde explained several times that he was paranoid that someone was out to get him.”

The report stated that Hyde cited “a variety of different names, contacts and provided information in reference to why he felt his life was in danger.”

Quotes from the Parnas messages...

“What should I do with this? … They are moving her tomorrow … The guys over [there] asked me what I would like to do and what is in it for them … She’s talked to three people. Her phone is off. Computer is off … They are willing to help if we/you would like a price … Guess you can do anything in the Ukraine with money … It’s confirmed we have a person inside … Hey brother do we stand down? Or do you still need intel?”

based on the bolded, they aren't talking about following her or something mild that you can do anywhere. This sounds like they were thinking of offing her. Or something else really bad. Maybe frame her for something? I mean, holy shit.

I was excited to turn off CNN once it was over.

I thought it was pretty ridiculous that they questioned Bernie about the “a woman can’t be elected President thing” and his response was fantastic (something along the lines of how he’s on record for 30 years stressing that women should hold more elected offices, he asked Warren to run in 2016 and said he wouldn’t run if she did, he campaigned for Hillary once she won the nomination, and Hillary had millions more votes in the election than Trump so of course he thinks a woman can be president and anyone who doesn’t think that is an idiot).

Then they asked him straight “so you’re saying you didn’t say that?” And he replied “No, I never said that.”

Then they turn to Warren and asked “how did you feel when Bernie said a woman can’t be president?”

Warren was my 1(a) and Bernie was my 1(b), but honestly, I think CNN has something against him and it’s made me switch those two around. Not that my vote means anything since the primary in NJ is pretty late.

That was pathetic. The moderators were bad and CNN is bad.

Apparently they asked him why his healthcare plan is going to bankrupt the country (I missed the majority of the debate so I didn’t see this)

WIthout cable I never see CNN (with cable I wouldn't see it much either). Anyway, my impression after the debate is that CNN is pro-Warren. Am I correct? They were slobbering over her performance while I thought she further reduced her chances, especially in the general.

I'm not a Bernie guy but they did him dirty with those questions, even with the order they asked.

Don't think the refused handshake and words after helps either of them.

I mean that last one Warren had to deal with a lot when she became front runner. I don’t know how much this is anti-Bernie and how much it is grilling a perceived front runner.

I think people will come out of most debates strengthening their own preconceptions. If you didn’t like Warren you’ll find a way to think her performance justified that. If you think things are unfairly stacked against Bernie you’ll find justification in that as well.

Yeah but that's a little like saying "I'm going to ban abortion" or "I'm going to repeal the second amendment."

You ain't gonna do any of that, because you'll never, ever have the votes.

Warren was my top choice before this week. Sanders is a now my number one.

I also think part of CNN’s questioning regarding the “women can’t win” thing was related to the fact that it was their own reporting that broke that story so they’re covering their own asses.

I thought an anti-Sanders bias was apparent from the part I saw last night. I guess it’s just my opinion.
