Age obviously matters too. Our stop is for 6th grade and under, with the majority of kids being k-3.

My town was so small at 2 square miles we didnt have any busses. We either walked or biked to school. We had busses in high school, but I managed to walk to the bus stop.

If they are close enough to walk, they walk. If they are too far to walk, then biking is probably too dangerous. Based on the lack of bikers I've seen, that's my suspicion for how middle kids and parents feel.

One of the most frequent complaints I fielded on the HOA board was the lack of additional bus stops - there's one for the entire neighborhood. The longest possible walk to the bus stop is 4/10 mile.

We've come a long way since my dad quit school after 8th grade to avoid the 8 mile walk to the high school.

LA fire source is a trash truck which dumped its flaming load into the brush. There is a freaking video. The guy shooting the video is pleading with them to dump it on the highway, or anywhere not combustible. Company rules are dump off road/save the truck.

edit: according to his signature he's actually an "Associate Technical Support Analyst" which probably involves more than just one task.
