The latter. My boss has something like 443 hours of excess PTO for example.

The other side of this coin is that they're bumping up their 401k matching and the plan vests sooner.

We're only allowed to hold your annual allotment + 5 days. It's a nice way of being able to save for a huge trip or wedding/honeymoon etc and not blow your whole vacation allotment.

The job I had the year I got married had a policy of 5 days of wedding leave. I took off something around 8 work days and only had to use 3 days worth of PTO.

Most places locked down how much carry over you can have as it is a liability. Long ago it was a great savings method. I accrued a lot of vacation, and when the plan changed I was paid out. In that time I had increased my salary over 20% (not all at once, so it is a sliding scale), so I was paid out at a better rate then I could get from any bank and without risk. That too is a case in point why you should limit carryover.

That's pretty sweet. Never heard of that perk.

Friend of mine worked for a small ISP server co locator company and they offered the same thing and they would pay for the honeymoon airfare.

I really do not understand people taking their pets everywhere. Big box stores, restaurants, places of worship, movie theaters, etc. I sort of hit my limit when a stroller with three little yippers in it at seminar predictably started barking. this set off someone some form of Developmental Disorder, then there was some one complaining about allergies, etc. Seriously, there are places that your best friend should stay home from, and most of those are places with a roof on where you do not live. I cannot imagine how someone who dislikes dogs feels about this.

We can carry and get paid out for 34 days. I maxed that out my first year and a half here when we had our first kid and didn't travel at all

On the other hand salaries suck here

At the restaurant I work at, some lady lied to me about being allergic to dogs so she wouldn't have to sit next to the lady who was lying about having a service dog. 2019 restaurant industry in a nutshell.

After all these weeks I am still thinking about those blue bananas that taste like ice cream someone posted about. My mother in law has some space on her lot in Florida that she is doing nothing with.

I’m with you. I like dogs but enough with having them in stores etc. i see them at Lowe’s all the time. A couple weeks ago I was in there and two dogs started barking at each other and were trying to get at one another. Just leave the dog at home would ya

I'm not anti dogs, just never had any (positive) experience with them and am now allergic

Best yet you should see the looks I get from some owners when I encounter a dog and don't fall all over myself with glee

allergies are a real bitch.

i mean i love dogs but totally agree they dont belong everywhere. my brother has special needs and is terrified of dogs and shouldnt have to deal with them absolutely everywhere. and as with most things, people are terrible and ruin everything so they might as well ruin dogs now by bringing their bad untrained ones everywhere too.

Maybe the owners have neighbors who complain about the dogs barking when they're left home alone so they have to take them everywhere.
