Then we should tax the corporations that make weapons and bombs instead of the common population, the majority of whom oppose war anyway (sorry if this was said already)

He barely attempted to get anything the Dems wanted in the budget. He lead with such weak proposals and ideas you could argue he created his own hand.

I've said for a while now he's a very moderate Dem and in a different political environment he'd probably be a liberal Republican, if they still existed.

His budget was a weak start and he was negotiating against himself from the jump. I was in a meeting in February and everyone representing the administration was assuming GA would be 'traded' for something. It turns out it was simply eliminated for nothing in return. The poor had little to no representation during these negotiations. Dermody was also terrible and basically gave up on minimum wage.

We need new leadership; over the next 4 years it's going to have to be the main goal of activists on the state level to flip the Assembly and oust the weak eggs. We finally have some strong people on the left flank; they need to gain SENIORITY since that and the Speakership is really all that matters in Harrisburg.

I know that no Presidential Candidate would actually do this, but that kind of is the problem with Beto. An interesting idea, but if the idea is to emphasize the tax part, which I understand. But if you want to do that, you should figure out what percentage of federal revenues are diverted to the waving of war ALREADY, then propose not a new “War Tax,” but naming the real rate at which people are taxed to fund war “the war tax.” So, if a citizen pays let’s say an effective rate of 12.5%, but 7% of that 12.5% funds war (or whatever), pull that part out and name it as such, so people know what they are paying for.

That would admittedly be a much more complex task to figure out mathematically, and it has as much chance of passing congress as the war tax, but the advantage is it describes the situation as it already is, and if you do the work, you don’t need to pass it - you can just repeat it as nauseum until everyone knows that x% out of their y% effective federal rate is a war tax.

Looks like Caban is going to pull out the Queens DA race. Krasner is at her party. Still a bit uneasy about people with so little experience being prosecutors for giant cities.

“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade on special counsel Robert Mueller: “I don’t think he knows the details of the report”

Classic

The "fair and balanced" crowd is going all in on Mueller incompetence and motive. The public prediction that this will go very badly for the other side is pretty amazing. At worse it is a retelling of the report, so anything more elaboration for clarification is probably a win.

Don put the fact checkers to work on his way to the copter once again. Is that he a) does not know the truth, or b) is a dunce? I know it is easy to go with c) serial liar, but I am really wondering if he is just completely clueless to repeat proven falsehoods. I know, I know I am ignoring the prime directive of lie 'til you die, rinse and repeat until fiction smells like fact to the lazy.

Thanks, this was cheaper then therapy.

PA Senate Dems walked off the floor after Leader Scarnati refused to consider amendments for the General Assistant Removal bill.

what just happened on the pa senate floor was wild.

general assistance repeal passed 26-24. the chamber is 28R-22D.

Maj. Leader Cormann was yelling and yelling as Sen. Muth was talking. Apparently she wasn't supposed to be. He kept yelling at Fetterman "CALL THE VOTE MR. PRESIDENT. POINT OF ORDER CALL THE VOTE!" Muth stopped. Cormann yelled at Fetterman and called him a political hack.
