I don't think there's a lot of people that say he's being creepy are saying he shouldn't be president because of it. A lot of the discussion I'm seeing is between democrats arguing about it themselves, with older ones saying they see nothing wrong, and younger saying they see why the woman was bothered. I don't think it's a sticking point at all for most, just a "just stop doing it" thing

I thought the first woman from Nevada who got the ball rolling said it was disqualifying and/or he shouldn't run or some such thing, and that was leading into a debate along those lines. I have been busy at work and spending my free time watching Phillies baseball and living through headlines and Twitter snapshots so might be catching things processed inaccurately.

There are, in fact, lots of people using it as a reason/excuse for Biden to go away. Read Michelle Goldberg’s piece in the NYT from a couple of days ago entitled: “The Wrong Time for Joe Biden
He’s not a sexual predator, but he is out of touch.”

And, for the record, Flores was not just some random stranger. Biden was there as the headliner for an event to campaign on her behalf. Doesn’t make his conduct right or wrong. Just saying she wasn’t a total stranger.

I mean, that's when they met, so yeah that applies

I didn't claim there aren't people saying he's now unfit, i'm saying i haven't seen that been the prevalent attitude

This will be an added attraction to my visit in a couple of weeks. Look, kids, Big Ben; dissolved Parliament.

Democrats still don't care that Biden is 2 standard deviations above the mean in terms of handsiness.

But the non-Democrat out to ruin the Democrats, and his bros, are in attack mode.

Are you seriously the person to try to call me a non-Democrat because I'm weirded out by his handsiness?

Why did you trim the part of the post where he said he wants Biden to be President?

Sen John Kennedy on CNN breaking the news that Justin Bieber sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber.
He also said that he would not mind Trump releasing his taxes, but understands that he is reluctant.

Because I agreed with his post - the redacted and non-redacted parts. I didn't want to make you read again the part that I wasn't responding to.

Maybe but the I think the exchange rate still sucks. Travelex is quoting 1 USD = 0.6901 GBP.

Regarding Trump and his taxes and the Mueller report being worse than Barr summarized, those are the least surprising bits of news ever. The audit thing is, as we've discussed here before, classic Trump. "Oh, I'd love to have you all over for coffee and donuts to chat about my taxes but gosh darn it they are under audit". Like a typical coward, he is always finding something to hide behind. Him and his draft dodging family.

That's not bad. For the longest time the rule was basically 2:1. $1.31 to 1 quid is alright. Lousy part is that the prices are basically the same as the US, except you are paying in sterling. Starbucks is my prime example (happens in Europe proper too).

Same as it was 30 years ago when I lived in London. Makes NYC look like a bargain.

On Biden--it's not just the incident in a vacuum. His dismissal of Anita Hill's complaint reveals at best an insensitivity to the idea that people, including women, have a right to determine who has access to their bodies.

And yes, I get that some people are more physically affectionate with acquaintances and even strangers than others. But I, and many others, reserve physical contact for a relative few people. I just don't want to be hugged by people outside that circle. ESPECIALLY IN A PROFESSIONAL SETTING. I don't understand why this is hard for people to understand. Don't touch me unless I agree to be touched. If you're not sure, back off.

Furthermore, Biden apparently came at this women from behind, which indicates to me he really didn't give a shit whether she wanted his physical attentions or not. And this is in my view a serious problem.

Finally, I really don't get why Biden is at all popular among Democrats. He's barely to the left of fucking Lieberman, given his history in the Senate. I really believe that one big reason Hillary lost is because she had a long political career of trying to move the Democrats to the right. We'll be making the same mistake with Biden.

I know it's oversimplifying to say it's a generational thing, but ....

For most of my life, I've tried to find the right amount of touch-hug-kiss with friends and family and hey-just-met-ya. I've erred on the cautious side, but I'm generally delighted when the other party wants more touching than I was planning.

I HAVE NOTICED that my peers welcome all the handsy that I have to offer. When I go to conferences I get mugged and hugged and kissed by everyone over 50. Younger women, I've noticed, are standoffish (in my view. "normal" in their own views) relatively. They are not hugging or kissing. It's not right or wrong - it's just different. I'm very aware they'd think I was a creeper to offer a hug.

I think it may be attributed to the number of actual creeps they have encountered that make them leery of everyone, and/or the schooling from earliest days that no one may touch you without express permission.

All of my life, I've been determined not to be that out-of-touch old person. The one who can't change the TV channel, the one who still says "colored people," the one who is blocking the highway or blocking the grocery aisle and entirely unaware.

I think Uncle Joe is that guy when it comes to personal space. Yeah, he's always been off the charts, but it's especially out of touch for this era.

It's a shame, because human touch is so fundamentally powerful when it's a simple expression of good will. It would be better if we were all more handsy - but that may take another generational swing.
