Of all the bad, stupid, and immoral things Trump has done - including appointing Rex Tillerson in the first place (I’d file that under “bad”), this is in many ways the most concerning to me. I think Tillerson was a bad pick, but he was Trump’s pick. To lambaste him in public in such flagrantly childish terms really speaks to someone who has no control over himself whatsoever. Cannot even file it under, as I often have, as “crazy like a fox.” If it’s not a sign of real mental instability, it certainly is a sign of a growing desperation. And maybe both.
