Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for Ivanka Trump lawyer Abbe Lowell, said something similar in a statement following the Post story. (Again, bolding is mine.)

"While transitioning into government, until the White House provided her the same guidance they had to others who started before she did, Ms. Trump sometimes used her private account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family," Mirijanian said.

So, her excuse is basically:

Clearly for the good of her family she ignored her father's rhetoric, and thus missed the messaging about proper use of computer systems and network.

FWIW, I did not get the idea that she stopped years ago.

For those keeping lists of the most blatant of the hypocrisies, we have:

Melania's family successful chain migration being completed
Trump using his private cell phone to make govt calls
Ivanka using private email to conduct government business
Trump businesses expanding the use of H1B1 visas while restricting access to them
"Draining the swamp" means bringing in only people who are ethically challenged
The "best people" is defined by loyalty to Trump, not competence
Trump spending more time golfing than the the Golfer in Chief, Obama


I think all we're missing is Trump taking an anti-wall position in an instance that doesn't involve brown immigration.

He's for bringing in people on visas so he doesn't have to pay Americans for jobs at his golf clubs.

I just don't think it's great to overstate some email mismanagement, but perhaps this would be a good time for much if our press to reflect on how grossly they fucked up covering the 2016 election and what was pushed into becoming the #1 issue (emails).

People are just laughing at the Trumps at this point. I doubt many people think it's serious.
