If I've done my readings properly, Whitaker can kill any indictment. We might not hear anything for a while.

I think that if the indictment was sealed prior to Wednesday (when Sessions was fired) or if they are state charges, then Whitaker has no involvement.

I could definitely be wrong, though.

I caught a few minutes of Cuomo on CNN pretty late last night, and his writers poignantly summarized the scenario that we live in today when he said that the Thousand Oaks shooting was our worst gun violence this week. Just let that statement marinade for a few minutes, then feel some sense of shame about the state of the state.

Broward county elections supervisor was appointed by JEB! btw.

She was appointed by Jeb as an interim after he removed her predecessor for gross incompetence in handling the 2002 FL primaries, and has been reelected four times as a Democrat since. And she appears to be an incompetent clown.

You've convinced me, these people's votes shouldn't count because of this lady appointed with bipartisan approval :D

How much of this lady's incompetence stems from not getting the proportionate resources as people in smaller areas?

I'm not even sure why counting these votes matters when theyre already well within range for a recount. Just count them as part of the recount.

What votes aren't being counted that you would like to have counted?

Dade is more populous than Broward, and it counted its votes. Broward is higher income than Dade as well so it should have plenty of resources.

They've been refusing for the past few days to say how many ballots they have left to tally. There is no transparency to anything she is doing, and as this morning's Florida Playbook lays out there's a lot of previous incompetence/malfeasance on display that raises questions about how her office is doing its job.

There’s a reason the Miami Herald before Election Day called Broward the “most controversial elections department” in South Florida. Actually, it’s the most controversial in the entire state, if not the whole country. And there are numerous reasons, not just one: Unlawfully destroying ballots, secretly opening absentee ballots before they’re canvassed, leaving a medical marijuana question off some absentee ballots, sending some voters too many ballot pages, leaving behind a “PROVISIONAL BALLOTS BOX” that was discovered by a teacher (the box apparently did not have votes in it), designing a ballot that may have led to tens of thousands of undervotes in the Senate race.

At this point certainly she's hurt Nelson more than Scott, but that doesn't change that she appears to be terrible.

Good for Miami-Dade. There are plenty of large or even medium size counties around the country not done counting yet. Philadelphia and Delco for example. Its just generally it's not close enough to decide the election.

It's annoying how gop legislatures, governor administrations ect don't give enough resources to election officials and then freak out and immediately accuse people of schenanigans when it takes longer to count the votes in large areas, or it becomes more complicated, and act like that wasn't what they were going for in the first place. It's not political maneuvering its subverting democracy.

I have no idea what's going on down there. I'm just saying, if there are any votes, should they just include them in the recount and get that started, rather than prolonging the initial count?

What if, after they are done counting them ALL, that the threshold is beyond that which requires a recount?

Yeah I mean if we knew how many votes were left we'd know whether that was possible.

Election Official is certainly not without fault here.

Wasserman says he doesn't really see a path for McSally in AZ anymore. Looks like we got that one.

Dave Wasserman @Redistrict
Btw, thinking there’s still a good chance of a total wipeout for Orange County Republicans despite current leads for #CA39 Kim (R) & #CA45 Walters (R). We’ll see.

Rohrabacher & Issa seats both look doomed for Rs.

Specifically, in Broward County, there were 24,000 ballots recorded. with a vote for governor, but not one for senator. While it is possible and legal for people to skip one or more offices, there is no other county in Florida that had anywhere near this many "skips." Furthermore, most of the 24,000 also had votes cast for downballot races, like commissioner of agriculture. It is very unusual, indeed, for someone to have an opinion about the agricultural commissioner and not about the Senate. Add it up, and experts are convinced that the machines somehow erred. The situation is still being unraveled, but about 70% of the votes in that particular county were cast for Bill Nelson. If we are to assume that the missing ballots actually had a vote, and that those votes followed the same pattern, then it would mean a net gain of +9,600 votes for the Senator in a race he currently trails by 17,000.

THERE WERE NO (AS IN NONE) Senate votes in Broward County.

Zero

None

Wow

If not, stick with Pelosi for one more cycle. Can't have a national IDC.

The only way trump will ever leave the White House is in cuffs or on a stretcher. Can’t wait for all the accusations when he loses in 2020

Yeah, I worry that the idea of a peaceful transfer of power may be put to the test come January 20, 2021.
