That’s right. I said it.
As much or more Obama. Or the backlash to him at the very least.

Or maybe just two years...people die in their 60s and 70s all the time.
Everyone acts like it is a guarantee that the conservatives on the court are going to live until they are 90.

Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are both in their early 50s

You think that Alito and Roberts will both vote to overturn?
Isn't Gorsuch on record that he will not vote to overturn?

Would they have to overturn it? Couldn't they just create some super strict restriction that would all but outlaw it?

Yes, and it only takes one of the olds to kick the bucket after 1/2021, presuming Trump doesn't get re-elected, and we are back to a 5-4 split. In fact, if a true liberal replaces Thomas, Alito, or Roberts then the court will be even more liberal than it was Kennedy as the swing vote.
Why always assume the worst?
Here's the deal: we need to figure out how to take back the White House and hold it down for a couple of decades.
Trump tweeted that protestors were “paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad.”

The two oldest justices (both in their 80s I believe) are both liberal. Any justice dying is likely to be more of a problem for liberals rather than conservatives. Nevermind the fact that one can retire which is how we got this current opening in the first place. Assuming the worst is just a consequence of reality. Republican presidents have filled far, far more spots since the late 60s than Democrats have.
