The first two, eh, the third one is shady and the fourth is definitely disconcerting.

I still want to know about the $200,000 in Washington Nationals baseball tickets. That the debt magically disappeared doesn’t even interest me as much as now he could possibly have racked up that bill in the first place.

He had debt on three credit cards & a bank loan ranging from $15,001-$50,000 on his 2016 financial disclosure statement. He did not report any debt of this kind on his 2017 financial disclosure. The explanation was it was for Nats season tickets and home improvements, and the baseball part was paid off when his buddies in his season ticket group paid for their share of the tickets.

Given credit card limits, would guess his debt was a lot closer to the $60k end of the range than the $200k end of it, and it's not been laid out how much was from baseball & how much on home improvements.

Would love to know what home improvements a Yale grad out on a credit card. Not great financially.

FWIW he comes off as not overly intelligent. Having $60k of debt on credit cards is beyond stupid and questionable given the ease of getting capital since 2010, his connections, and interest rates.

It was probably the bank loan that covered the home improvements.

If you transfer the balance it to a new CC offering 0% interest for 12 months on transfers it’s actually kinda smart. We’ve done it ourselves and it works out great.

I think the real problem with the limits are 'no new leads'. Investigations are about discovery, so if during an interview you find that you get a dozen reports of similar behavior you cannot investigate? Can you report? The report will be treated as hearsay because it was not investigated.

In doing a little further reading, the FBI is supposed to have some latitude in discovery, but there seems to be some questions. The new inquiry item is outwardly to keep a line from forming of baseless claims just to slow the process, or make it incomplete, which has some logic to it, but there is certainly some opportunity for shamtastic shenanigans.

It’s simple - trump establishing with his base that FBI has power to do whatever it needs. The facts do not matter.
