just got back from work trip to tulsa.

i don't usually talk to people on airplanes unless they do first, and they rarely do. maybe i look scary.

ended up sitting in row with 2 older gentlemen who about halfway through started talking to one another, turns out the guy next to me is a retired fbi agent. also was in air force, graduated Villanova, and is now a competitive marksman. he apparently helped capture and prosecute Christopher boyce for bank robbery charges in the 80s - boyce had been out of prison after being caught in the 70s for espionage as storied in the 1986 movie 'the falcon and the snowman' starring sean penn and timothy hutton.
Not everything I think is something I should say.

I once sat by a girl on a flight to Boston who said she played violin for the Boston Pops Orchestra and her parents owned Penguin publishing. It wasn't until I got off the plane that I thought, "I bet she made that whole thing up." She looked like she was 19 y.o.(I was about 25).

On the other hand, I sat by a girl on a flight from Iceland when in grad school and I told her about being at Dartmouth and my research there. I got a postcard from her (she sent it to the department) and in the postcard she basically hinted that she thought I made the whole thing up and she was seeing if I was really there. Unfortunately, she didn't give me a return address (she was at swarthmore and I only had a first name), so she probably thinks I was lying to this day.

I guess what I'm saying is that your guy's story sounds made up, but maybe it's not.

My wife has been helping out her stepmom since my wife’s dad died, bc she is dealing with a bad back injury and can barely get around. She went over today to help out and her stepmom told her she has a rectal tumor. JFC

I was hoping so. Very cute young woman. I wish she gave me a last name or address. It was the 90's, so finding her online wasn't really possible.

Sorry to hear that. Is it contained or is the back pain because it's spread? Or maybe it's none of my business.

THe back pain is it's own separate issue from a herniated disc

well that's good. Not good, but you know what I mean. I was afraid the tumor had spread into her spinal cord.

I was reading about immunotherapy options that are coming for cancer. It's very encouraging. I'll post the article in the science or essay thread, whichever I find first.

He's never had someone sit next to him for an entire game.

There are a lot of YouTubers who have PO Boxes where fans send them a bunch of gifts. I find that really creepy and inappropriate.
