So I signed up for Rover to walk and watch people's dogs.

I got my first message this morning. I was excited. Read that you have to reply quickly and take all requests when you start to help people find your profile.

Strange request. It was 11 am. She wanted me to board her dog for the weekend. She'd drop off at 1 pm. Incredibly short notice. Gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe some awful emergency happened.

She then asked if I could pick up the dog. I said no. She would have to drop off. Fine she said.

When will you be back? Sunday morning? No. Sunday night she said. That's a decent amount of time for two nights of pay on Rover. However, I want to help and get jobs in the future.

She shows up in a Lyft at 1. Basically hands me the dog, some food and a leash which are in a bag. I asked if there is anything I need to know. No, she says.

She gets back in the car and leaves. Thirty seconds max.

I am worried someone just dumped their dog on me.

Putting on my unsubstantiated guess hat, someone died out of town and she has to head out to the funeral.
