How did you determine this, and what did you do about it? Starting to think we may have this problem

Dad and mom live outside Phoenix. He was jogging early in the morning and a pick up truck hit him. Dad didn't have id on him so her mom called 911 after he didn't come back home. That's how they found out.
Don't know how you even cope with that or care for someone who is trying to.
It's always tough but seems harder when it's an accident like this.

Bucky wrote:I was almost ready to say "don't do that", but stopped short for two reasons.
#1: The tale is that hot water can pick up impurities from your home's pipes, so always cook with cold water. But then I realized you're boling the water anyway.
#2: I'm not really sure if that tale is true or an old wive's tale that maybe was true when we had lead pipes in our homes or something like that.
But as WfO points out, it doesn't do enough to matter, so it's basically a waste of hot water. So don't do this unless you're in someone else's house.

TenuredVulture wrote:Boiling water doesnt remove impurities. Especially thr heavy metals that might leach from pipes. In fact, it concentrates them. It does of, course kill micro organisms.
