haven't been posting as much. Feel pretty boring/giving less and less a fuck about sports/politics is miserable.

How is everyone?

giving less about sports and politics is a good thing, being miserable though is not. don't get your life to wrapped up in those things when there are many other beautiful things in life that are taken for granted. it may be talking with a random stranger, building current relationships, learning from both our accomplishments and failures and enjoying nature and the skies. use the time, not being wrapped up in sports/politics as a time to grow as a person and not let life suddenly pass you by. there's a lot in this thing called life, go out and enjoy it, create a new story.

My school runs a lot of service trips and the company they use will sometimes award them with a few free travel spots on trips that aren't fully booked. We just got offered 4 spots (2 for teachers, 2 for students) on a trip for trekking in Nepal. The trip lasts 8 days and goes up to 3300 meters. Completely free. I applied. I doubt I'll get it because I'm new, but I do have a few things in my favor. This is pretty much one of my dreams, so I hope I get it. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and it's during school, so I also get a week off work. All I have to do in return is give a presentation or something. I'd like to use some of the experience in my classroom, so there are some legit professional reasons to go beyond the personal ones.

Chatting with a couple dads at my kid's sports event, and the dads already knew each other (one was liberal, one was conservative). When politics came up, the liberal guy just assumed I was liberal, and the conservative guy called him on his assumption.

Speaking of the inevitable crawl of time, today would have been my 10th wedding anniversary. Weird to think about how long ago that was.
