When I didn't have a commute I was in the same boat, but now I'm in the car for like an hour and a half a day so I started listening to podcasts. There are some really entertaining listens out there and I know I'm only scratching the surface of what is out there really.

My wife packs the kids' lunches. Sometimes, I do it if she has something going on at night. The kids hate when I pack their lunches. They complain that I either pack too little or not the right stuff.

I pack my own lunch. I usually make a lot of something on Sunday...mostly ground turkey and veggies with different flavor profiles. Then I portion them out and keep them in the fridge. Grab a container and a piece of fruit (and 3 hard boiled eggs for breakfast - also made on Sunday), put them in my lunchbox and store it in the fridge over night. Easy peasy.

I also tend to keep a bag of carrots or celery sticks in the work fridge and I have a container of almonds/raisins at my desk to snack on if needed. (FYI - we buy raw almonds and roast them ourselves which taste much better than buying them roasted)

If we have those individual guacamole containers, I may add one of those to eat with my eggs in the morning. If I am feeling really crazy, I'll buy an avocado and mix 1/2 with peeled and chopped hard boiled eggs to eat for breakfast (think green egg salad).

I have done the meal prep sunday a few times and set myself up for lunch for the week, but got out of the habit over summer. Now my wife makes me sandwiches. I may do a meal prep this sunday since I don't think we have any plans.

I can listen to music when I'm doing lots of things--especially when I'm writing or grading. Can't do podcasts like that.

It makes sense for me to pack lunch for Vox when I'm making the kids lunches. At the end of last year, I finally got the two oldest eating the same thing, ham and cheese sandwiches. So I just make Vox one too, and he packs the rest. Plus, as the one doing the grocery shopping, it helps me keep on top of what we're running out of.

Oh jeez, got a text from my sister. Today my nephew was walking their dog when it got off the leash, bolted into the street and was hit and killed by a truck, which of course my nephew witnessed. Poor kid is inconsolable.

I never noticed the comically bad slipping sound effect at 0:41 until yesterday.

I never noticed his name is Dennis Nedry. I'm going to go on pretending it's Newman.

It's my wife's birthday, which is 12 days after our anniversary. Last year we were in a very rough place and we didn't really do anything to celebrate either occasion. Life is good.
