In other garbage disposal news, ours started leaking a little. Think I'm just gonna take it out, we don't use it much since it's bad for the septic system anyway.

just setting up a new tivo mini in my office since the old one has been on the fritz. Found that the wall wart for my hdmi splitter was broken and the two prongs were sticking out of the power strip- bare metal. And this is in a credenza cabinet with lots of other stuff. Coulda been disaster

I don't know much about marketing, but it seems to me that dropping "Donuts" from Dunkin Donuts, leaving it just Dunkin is not a great idea. So just what are you supposed to dunk?

They have been calling themselves Dunkin for a while, I thought. Now they're just changing their signage/logo to reflect that.

Now people will forget that they sell donuts there.

I've always been creeped out by those places. Who wants their Kreme Krispy?

My Dad's year so far:

His mom dies within days of his 60th birthday.
His brother in law, with whom he was very close, dies of throat cancer within days of their birthday.
He is diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Doctors are pretty sure they caught the cancer very early, so he's probably ok. Has another test today.

fuck, this is really weird and i actually hated typing this...

so i want to tell you guys why i haven't posted in so long but i don't want to make a big deal about it, i guess. the tl;dr is i have been dealing with a lot of tragic life stuff and i've also had an increased role in my work. i've had a lot of close friends and family members die in the last 3 years and my work was really not supportive during this process until recently. things have been going good for me the last few months, but my life from like winter of 2015 through this summer was actually fucking terrible. i felt worse than i had in my entire life that whole time and it made me want not to interact with people at all, even online. that in combination with my ever increasing waning interest in sports was mostly why i stopped posting here. i really missed interacting with many of you during my time here. i will never forget Soren driving me to the BSG meetup.

if anyone has any questions about stuff, i'll be around next hour or so checking to answer. if not, i'll check back the next few days.
