Peter Navarro is all excited about the new tariffs. The whole rest of the world is magically going to find a way to produce the goods that China is going to be exit out of and there will be no additional costs to the American consumers. And his case that will all be okay with the terrorists he cited the good that the president has done by providing billions of dollars to the farmers during this rough patch. It was a rather interesting interview on NPR. Maybe the interview wasn't so interesting, but the perspective was.

what i don't get is they could've picked any of the how many conservative justices out there that have been groomed for this role. why go with the guy with such a long history in the executive? do we possibly think the reason McConnell didn't want to pick him was this story (the attempted rape) may have also been known?

this just seems like an incredible own goal to have picked this guy.

I don't think McConnell knew this story. Also, for argument's sake let's assume the incident occurred - I bet Kavanaugh didn't even think he did anything wrong back then and it's slipped from his mind. This was back when everything was the woman's fault and he was allegedly black out drunk. Even with the best vetting I don't see this incident coming up. McConnell just didn't want the headache of the paper trail coming up because any number of things could have been found that would sink the nomination.

I was under the impression Kavanaugh would be fine even in this environment, but it's hard to argue at this point that Hardiman wasn't the safer choice.

Don’t know what to think about the recent Lisa Page story about the FBI having nothing connecting Russia to the trump campaign before Mueller. The story only seems to exist on right wing news sites though
