Two things to consider: first, what was tge likely vote screen. Different pollsters do it differently. Second, was is a phone poll, or mixed, or what. Also, might have different results if they used Spanish for Spanish speaking voters.

Just remember the polls circa 2016.

I'm confused. Didn't Trump himself pick Sessions to be attorney general? I am not sure if he went this far yet but if I were Jeff Sessions, I would publicly challenge Trump to fire me - "if I am doing such a bad job, fire me, because I am not resigning".

Trump is a huge fucking baby and won't fire him. He'll just belittle him publicly and privately until he quits.

I think that, in effect, that’s exactly where we are and it will happen after the elections.

If the Dems manage to take the Senate, confirmation for a new AG would (I hope anyway) be conducted in a way to maximize public humiliation of the GOP.

Not to go all conspiratorial, but there's been a concerted effort by some really shitty people to undermine American democracy--the use of right wing media, voter suppression, and the like have been accompanied by all kinds of "intellectual" arguments that claim elites really are better at running things that democratically elected representatives. The irony is that populism is the tool being used to undermine democracy.

That's not really a conspiracy theory is it? There's a book about it!!
