you forget just how unpopular Nixon was when Ford pardoned him, cost him the election though so I suppose that may be the biggest reason Pence wouldn't pardon him

But Nixon was ultra establishment GOP

you don't think the GOP whether they are establishment or not is incredibly fearful of the primary voters that tend be more Trumpy than establishment?

I would think it better in the long-term interest of the party to cut bait with an impeached/disgraced Trump, but who knows yeah

Ding; this is a permanent thing. the high school and college Republican clubs are not filled with Charlie Bakers, they are filled with Donald Trumps and Lou Barlettas. Outside of a few pockets of suburban Philadelphia, there are no elected representatives in our state that are anything but 100% pro-Trump and pro-Trump conservative policy.

Partly or mostly because that's in their best interests to "win" right now. Might that change if he's impeached and/or disgraced?

Ultimately, though, whatever. I hope they do cling to Trumpism.

Lou Barletta on the issues:
Health care: Barletta said if he were in the Senate instead of Casey, when the chamber fell just short of repealing much of the Affordable Care Act, "Obamacare" wouldn't exist today.

Illegal immigration: "You can't just walk into this country, depress the wages, take jobs away from the American worker and make us less safe. Bob Casey stands for illegal immigrants, he supports sanctuary cities. He supports open borders. There couldn't be anything more threatening to the United States by having open borders."

The economy: Barletta scoffed at the notion that hitching his wagon to Trump is a mistake, saying the economy is soaring and unemployment is low because of Trump's pro-business policies and his tax-cut legislation.

"The economy is so good that even (former NFL quarterback turned Nike ad man) Colin Kapepernick found a job. So why would we want to stop what's happening?" Barletta said. "The tax cuts, the fact that we have put more money in the pockets of the American people because we believe you can spend your money better than people in Washington?"

So Orrin Hatch says that he spoke with Kavanaugh "for about 10 minutes". During the conversation, Kavanaugh told him that his accuser may be mistaking him for someone else and that he wasn’t even at the party in question.

This is the description of the "party in question" from Ms. Ford's letter:

"The assault occurred in a suburban Maryland area home at a gathering that included me and four others".

Based on that vague description, how can Kavanaugh claim to have not been "at the party in question"?

He probably never got invited to any of them.

one thing's for sure: she's either being truthful or making the entire incident up. If it did happen she would absolutely remember who the dude was.

I'm pretty sure I would know whether I was at a 5 person "party" featuring an attempted rape. Even years later.

Releasing this secret information is the first step in the firing of Mueller.

They are going to try that soon.

If this series of releases has their intended affect.

Yup, It's really their only chance. The problem is Mueller has farmed out much of the investigation, making it hard to stop the whole investigation. And some of these are state level charges.

Plus, if the dems win the house, any attempt will be mute because they will do the investigation.

Trying to turn the polling numbers against Mueller. Helps with building case to fire him post elections.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

I think the firing is planned sooner.

Nunez ordered ALL this material, down to the line numbers in July.

This material must get before the voters before October, said Nunez.

That made me wonder, just what else is happening in Oct.

Release of the Apprentice tape.

Arnold was just assaulted by Burnett, it must have been over the tape.

While folks will not be talking about impeachment until after the election, the DONALD is hoping to make the issue MOOT.

Perhaps the Donald also has the power of the Jedi, and can mute them as well.
