smitty's brother-in-law called today with news that he died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Federal Way, WA on New Years Day. His family is planning an event on February 8th in the Philadelphia area. Will share details for 2/8 and also a link to his obituary as soon as it's published.

Thanks so much for sharing, mickbayne. Always felt like I had a compatriot in smitty, if a kinder, smarter, more reasonable and funnier one. He's missed by me and so many others on the board. I can only imagine what a loss this is to his family.I'd love to hear about any public get together in the area. Hopefully smitty will be watching, giving 'em low smoke and pounding some Budweiser.
