a Republican Congress 12 years ago put USPS on the 'unsustainable path' by forcing them to pre-fund their pension system for workers that literally may not even be born yet. they also restricted them in many other ways that made it hard to make money. no other business or government related entity in the world is required to do what they do.

I got tripped up. Libby indictment was five felony counts of making false statements to federal investigators, perjury for lying to a federal grand jury, and obstruction of justice for impeding the course of a federal grand jury investigation into the illegal leaking by government officials of the classified identity of a covert agent. He did not out Plame, he just ran cover for Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, who did the deed. Libby was convicted of only four counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements. He was acquitted of one count of making false statements. At the core was exposing Plame o reporters in 2003 just days after her husband publicly accused the administration of doctoring prewar intelligence.

So I amend my charge down to the relevant obstructor of justice, and making false statements as key to Trumps thinking. He only did that to spare the leaker. Given that Libby was the end of the rope, he was essentially the public patsy for the debacle, but that does not mean he was not guilty.

Problem on the left is we'd like to define Ben Simmons as actual NBA star Ben Simmons...for political purposes the next Ben Simmons would be more of a Nik Stauskas type in real life - white guy, makes his money, doesn't disturb the system. That's why Ryan was indeed a star on the right.

my steaming pile hot take is that the report I heard said that Cohen liked to play these recording for "colleagues" , stop and consider that a moment with all this Client-Lawyer privledge yap. Now knowing what you know about little hands don (mob name), imagine him sitting around with his pet lawyer listening to these recordings. You know that happened. because you know that happened, you know that Don knows he was recorded. Hell, he probably egoistically loved it.

Kander sure thinks he is.

The problem is that even the relative consensus rising stars (Booker, Gillibrand, Harris) have rough pasts that may haunt them. I don't know enough about Julian Castro to know if he's the same. Booker is NJ's senator so will get the big Pharma label. Gillibrand worked for big law (which whatever) but she represented Philip Morris. Harris has a rough record that the left should rightly excoriate her on as AG though she's gone back on a lot of that. There's always the next Kennedy but ehhhhh no thanks.

Non national figures probably include MAYOR PETE, Garcetti, and Mitch Landrieu.

TBf, it was even uglier. Trump was pissed that he was flown back on the government's dime. He literally wanted to fire him, have him stranded on the West coast, and then let him wallow in his humiliation when had made arrangements to get back home on his dime fighting for a place on an overbooked flight. Its a real shithead move. some would say that a real slime ball would be so crass, but that went out the window w/o being man enough to perform the termination in person like a real person has to do when there are no cameras recording a game show.

As an aside, with the slime ball tweet, I am still dumbfounded that this is presidential communication. He has so tarnished the respect accorded the leader of this great nation. Not so great I guess if you listen to his propaganda.
