Trump literally cannot buy experienced legal help. He has been declined by several prominent firms and practitioners due to "business conflict". some of these conflicts, most of which were not validated, are simply an unwillingness to take on a self destructive client who will not listen to their advice. That risk of high profile loss is not sound business. He is promoting from within a Georgia barrister who has, in his word, been tested, and says that you don't need to be a beltway lawyer to be successful. That last bit is echoing the 'Trump as swamp outsider' messaging. Good news for the newish guy, he is almost 70, so the risk could spell a well deserved retirement.

One does have to be amazed that someone, anyone, cannot find a lawyer to help represent them in D.C.

Stunning that an arrogant pathological liar with a room temperature IQ with a history of stiffing his lawyer's when it comes time to pay their bills is having trouble finding a reputable lawyer to represent him.

So is this stormy thing going to be the issue that decides whether or not a sitting president has to answer for his/her crimes? If a judge tries to force him to show up at trial and he refuses, then what? This has been discussed in reference to the russia thing, but it seems like this other issue will arrive in the courts first. Keep in mind that I'm not a lawyer and maybe this is a civil thing and not criminal (yet). On the other hand, he (through his minions) has been defaming her a good bit.

CNN host Alisyn Camerota on Wednesday confronted the author of "God and Donald Trump," questioning how he can continue to back President Trump amid reports of extramarital affairs.

"In order to receive forgiveness, don't you have to confess to your sins?" Camerota asked Stephen Strang, the founder of Charisma Magazine. "Isn't that a tenant of the Bible? I mean don't you have to own up to these things? You know, Donald Trump famously said he's never asked God for forgiveness."

Strang said that issue is between Trump and God, adding that he focuses on Trump's policies.

"He supports the kinds of policies that we think are important," Strang said, noting Trump has become a "champion" of religious rights.
Camerota shot back: "Isn't that a little bit like saying, 'Gosh, I really like Harvey Weinstein's movies, so I'm going to overlook what I know to be true about Harvey Weinstein and I'm going to support him and give him money for his movies?'"

She further questioned whether Strang is practicing some "willful blindness" and was overlooking Trump's actions because the president was championing policies he agreed with.


If you have six-plus minutes, you have to watch the full interview. It is unbelievable how hypocritical and willfully blind some Trump supporters are, particularly evangelicals.

Not yet, but he is sort of over a barrel, isn't he. If he professes that no one did anything wrong, then gives pardons, it makes him look either weak or a fool. Never admitting while living in a prison of his own design is where he find himself now.

It is really interesting that the word "champion" is often used as it, to me, invoke gladiator. Gladiators were almost never volunteers as it risk position and status, and were most often slaves. A good death was lionized providing status in legacy for the majority. Some were well rewarded by patron and escaped punishment like Spiculus, hero of Nero, who had land, riches, and dwellings (I only remember because Nero wish for Spiculus to bring swift death when his empire folded, but he was otherwise occupied). As curious is that this form of barbaric entertainment was ushered out with the rise of the church.

I suspect Manafort knows enough that he or members of his family would end up dead if he opened his mouth. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many people who have gone against Putin have publicly and horrifically died lately. And the nerve gas attack made sure people know that even family members aren't safe.

I wish the Admiral all the luck in the world. He's looking down the double barrels of a career-ender. How did he come to this situation where he gets a nomination? Well he doesn't come right out and say that Don is a big fat turd who might die at any moment because of his tragic lifestyle choices. Really I wish him luck because he's now in charge of taking care of our veterans. I hope he's up to the task because there's a hell of a difference between being a doctor and knowing how to run a gigantic network of hospitals with the multitude of needs.
