The chance the legislative filibuster is abolished this Congress is approximately equal to us all growing wings and being able to fly this Congress. So I guess that's a maybe.

Many probably would have said the same thing about the GOP refusing to allow Obama's supreme court pick to get a vote. But hey, keep pounding the "the GOP isn't quite THAT bad," drum, if it helps you make peace with your party's attack on the constitution.

well the president wants it to happen and the GOP is a party of bootlickers so.....

Or should I say the grand dragon, stephen miller, wants it to happen.

You're the guy supporting what is pretty much an evil group of people doing a lot of evil things that you support. So you look a hell of a lot worse than I do. Keep that in mind when you're throwing around the sarcasm and/or personal shots. Or you can just do you and we can judge you based on that. Your choice.

You float a nonsense idea, assert the GOP licks Trump's boots, point out he is demanding a change, but you agree that they're highly unlikely to act on his request.

Top notch #analysis

I guess you don't know what the word maybe means. Maybe can be much less than 50%. It's also not a nonsense idea when you have people trying to tear down our institutions like the GOP has been doing. It sure seems like anything is in play, even if unlikely.

I get that you want to point out that you think I'm stupid every chance you get, but you are the one thinking trickle down economics works, so you look either really stupid or willfully ignorant. At this point, someone would have to be one of those two things to believe that stuff works. You just think poor people should suffer. Like I said, you look a lot worse than I do. I mean, this is your chosen livelihood. I'm just a science teacher throwing out thoughts here and there. Maybe I'm naive about some of this stuff, but at least I care about others.

Oh, and the GOP has been a bunch of bootlickers. Or do we need to review the meeting of pence and others kissing Trump's wannabe dictator ass?

I don't think JH is stupid. He is a sociopath though. In another thread he said he has no empathy for humans, only dogs. That pretty much sums up the mindset of the modern Republican. WTF happened to the sane Republicans of the past, like Nelson Rockefeller?

Meehan talked about visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial after they got ice cream and finding his family, and another the same as the aide's. He wrote, "As I traced the monument with my finger, I wondered who they were and why their plans ended so sadly and abruptly".

Is Pat Meehan really that dumb? Do he have no idea how so many names ended up on that memorial, how thier lives abruptly ended, and/or the needlessness of do much of that death, and the destruction it wrought to the families? Meehan should be bounced out of office in the next election on that alone, if he cannot be made to see the light of his wrong doing sooner.

JfC people. Lay off the only republican you ever interact with. JH is not a sociopath, psychopath, disgusting human, traitor to the country, etc. Part of the growing problem in the US is an unwillingness to listen, and thoughtfully engage with people you do not completely agree with. Eventually you slide over to not listening at all, and "engagement" is as partisan, polarized, and dogmatic as the perceived offense being decried. Without seeking common ground, there is no chance of compromise, or consensus on the common good.

I work in IT, mostly with SWM 10-15 years older than me in the upper middle class. I interact with plenty of Republicans, plenty of people who will talk to you about their kids going to college after explaining why Sandy Hook was staged. The GOP is a fucking scourge.

For people who can't read good, I will avoid tongue in cheek comments about how I have zero empathy for humans playing on the running accusation that I don't care about people. I'm pretty sure I'm not a sociopath. If I was a sociopath, I'd be a lot richer.

Though I do like most dogs more than I like most human beings.

I think he pretty regularly takes shots at me and that's generally the only time I respond. So you might want to lecture him instead. I personally don't think he's a sociopath, but he's way too smart not to understand how broken and corrupt the GOP is right now. He's not scared or misinformed.

Look, enough with the personal attacks. My rooting for the eagles cannot be defended on any rational basis, and I will not attempt to do so. In my defense, I cannot help it and am deeply ashamed. Our rooting interests are never rational, and I am not responsible for them. I continue to hold in contempt the kind of Eagles fan who is proud of running into subway poles (before the game) and harassing and assaulting fans of other teams, and I assume that none of the posters here condone such behavior. But like Republicans, you do seem quite reluctant to criticize those fans, and often resort to "both siderism" (other fans do the same things) when those things come up.

Those bad fans are in every city I've ever been to a game in. Certainly small sample size, but both Baltimore and Washington have broken drunk abusive morons in and around their stadiums. In DC I could see some hate heading my way, but I was also keeping it fairly undercover as to the fact that I was rooting for the Birds until I was at my seat. So what I saw was just random acts of drunken violence. Baltimore I was at the first Ravens game (vs the Raiders) and it was just some kind of drunken gang fight, without the gangs. Completely random.

I feel like my "I hate Trump" credentials are solid enough to ask this....but will it seem less fulfilling if Mueller ONLY gets him on the obstruction of justice and doesn't have anything actionable on illegal collusion and/or money laundering? Maybe it doesn't matter.

Also, since the dude only hurt himself and not a single other person....I don't have a problem with the dude who ran into the subway pole at all.
