TenuredVulture wrote:One more thing--today, in right wing media bias, we have the always reliable NPR (really, yank their #$!&@ funding already--it's not much better than Fox News for people who like soy milk) which reported the story about Trump not visiting the London embassy because Obama's bad real estate deal, but did not include the fact that Bush was the one who set up the embassy move, and the fact that Britain was not enthusiastic about this and there's probably some royal family snubbing Trump going on that was the real reason he's not visiting.

I guess I get bottom page brownie points for providing facts.

Trump just wanted to pigeon Obama, and say he knows how (to use bankruptcy laws) to build a real estate empire.

Does the Soy Milk Empire of NPR get credit for airing that on Jean-Baptist-Point Du Sable, a Black Haitian pioneer, and trader, is the founder of the settlement that later became the city of Chicago?

I await more comments about Chicago being a shit hole when he finds out.

NPR has been pretty right wing for some time now. I don't think it's an accident that like Fox News, there seems to be a considerable amount of sexual harassment over at that place. I suppose it all started innocently enough--the right has been going on and on about yanking funding from them, and maybe they thought that if they were nicer to Republicans, they could keep their subsidy. Now, that was a pretty dumb idea, but whatever.

It's not all bad I suppose, Nina Totenberg as about as good as it gets in covering the court, and some of the programs at some of the affiliate stations can be interesting I guess (though I really haven't listened since I dumped Sirius.)

But the news digest I've been listening to in the morning on my alexa for awhile has been pretty disappointing.

I do find a lot of how NPR covers politics to be problematic (both sides crap, they are beholden to giant corporations and billionaires for donations), but they have some very good shows and reporters; it's nowhere near FOX News.

It's such a philosophical dilemma The Donald has posed for a potential immigrant: the more of a shithole my country is, the more I want to emigrate to the US, but the more of a shithole my country is, the less they want me.

That and the racism. That's also problematic.

Botswana has asked for clarification as to whether it is, in fact, considered a shithole.

I've never used the term here which is pretty shocking imo.

Elliott, 44, was one of the 215 workers at the Indianapolis plant who were given pink slips on Thursday. And to say she is disappointed by Trump would be an understatement.

"We all voted for him," she said of herself and her Carrier co-workers. "We just thought he was going to protect our jobs. It sounded really good. And then, boom."

Who saw that coming? Oh wait pretty much everybody. Carrier however is happy that Pence gave them a nice Big Tex cut. They'll keep the change.

If I remember correctly, it's a tax cut they'll get for another several years. Just lovely.
