Hypocrisy is dead. Seize the politics

Doesn't seem like Leach is going anywhere

All of this has gotten out of hand. News vans are now banging on our window and my family is being chased when they leave the House. So I am taking a short break from social media and from interacting on this story.

That said, I'm issuing the following statement:

"While I've always been a gregarious person, it's heartbreaking to me that I have put someone in a position that made them feel uncomfortable or disrespected. In the future I will take more care in my words and my actions, and I will make it my top priority to protect those who to speak up to help change the culture around us.

I have watched these allegations hurt my family and supporters, and respectfully ask for privacy for my family.

Today, I am taking a step back from the congressional campaign to focus on my family and work with Senate leaders to address these allegations and fully cooperate with them as they are all vetted.

I will continue to do all that I can to advance progressive causes in the Senate and represent my constituents with honor."

f future Congresses decide to extend the lower tax rates for individuals and families rather than allow them to expire, and also extends other temporary provisions, the bill will end up costing $2 trillion to $2.2 trillion, according to a report by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan deficit hawk group.
-----
In a separate report, the conservative-leaning Tax Foundation estimated that the tax plan, if made permanent, would cost $2.7 trillion on a static basis and $1.4 trillion using "dynamic" scoring that factors in growth.

What the... oh, I'll still get to keep my special tax breaks (Bob Corker), then lets vote!

I actually am siding with Leach on this one. I think that his sense of humor, opinions and outspokenness makes him an easy and vulnerable target.

I've also known him since I was 14. Obviously, I am probably biased.

Judicial candidate Matthew Petersen, sponsored by Drool Cup, has withdrawn his nomination. Well, since he hardly got more then his name right, he should have quit from the start.

I am sure that this type of partisan hackery has happened before, but to this level of incompetence?

I’m sure the Pubs view themselves in a win/win situation: If the tax plan does produce the miraculous growth they’re projecting it’s all to the good. If not, they’ll have an excuse to cut entitlements.

Take it with a grain of salt, but John Cornyn says that a DACA fix is not in the mix for the rest of the year, which means that there will either be a budget deal w/out it on Friday or they'll kick the budget down the road again. Use what little power you have for once Dems.

"Beginning on page 25, line 3, there is a policy related to pass-through businesses and what is known as the alternative limitation on the deduction amount," Corker wrote Sunday in a letter to Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), the chairman of the Finance Committee.

"Because this issue has raised concerns, I would ask that that you provide an explanation of the evolution of this provision and how it made it into the final conference report. I think that because of many sensitivities, clarity on this issue is very important and hope that you will respond in an expeditious manner."

Hatch responded in a letter Monday that he was "disgusted" with reports that "distorted" the bill-writing process, denying the provision was jammed into the final bill at the last minute.

"It takes a great deal of imagination – and likely no small amount of partisanship – to argue that a provision that has been public for over a month, debated on the floor of the House of Representatives, included in a House-passed bill, and identified by (the Joint Committee on Taxation) as an issue requiring a compromise between conferees is somehow a covert and last-minute addition to the conference report," Hatch wrote.

Hatch is a piece of work. No one noticed this until now? It was available for a month? openly debated? In all that debate did anyone mention, at all, that the fix was in for Trump (predicted 4 or 5 threads ago that this would happen).so who is the fool here in this particular play, Hatch or Corker?

The Stein thing has been bubbling for a while. Mueller asked the trump campaign for records of any contact with her. This is how you steal an election if you're Russia/GOP. Get someone to come at Clinton from the left to eat away at her votes and force her to move to the left.

I hope Stein goes down with the rest.

Nice way to express your condolences Mr. Prez. Rather then reach out to hurting families involved in the train derailment, he goes with the ego stroke that he is right about crumbling infrastructure (how do we pay for that?).

Peter Roskam from Illinois saying that it is good that the public loathes the tax bill because it sets low expectations, and people will be pleased when it gets out there. That is some kind of logic.

Here is my advice: Duck and Cover!

this was a brand-new express train they didn't properly test (or have enough safety barriers around the highways it went over). so it isn't even the correct incident to point to.

PA Senate Dems are going to review their workplace harassment policies and launch an investigation into Leach.

PA Senate Repblicans are basically giving Metcalfe an attaboy for being homophobic.
