It occurs to me that if Putin were running the U.S. directly, rather than indirectly, we'd be seeing the exact same legislative and policy agenda on all fronts.

JCT analysis says the tax package would increase deficit by $1 Trillion, which is less than initial guesses/estimates. Bill still sucks, but there's more selling points for the right.
