They do realize you can build a hotel (and choose to stay in one) anywhere, but only mine for natural gas where you find it, right? Maybe not.

the lobbyists for natural gas are better than the hotel lobbyists, though you'd think they could offer politicians nicer stays

Yup.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

I don't care if he's impeached. The GOP that facilitates him is the problem.

Since Trump did such a wonderful job will he just ignore that the death toll doubled today? I am sure it will since it will not rival Katrina. Its going to rise when they get farther into the remote areas, but its a non-issue.

There is a possible interaction here--you discredit Republicans and their ideology by tying to Trump and his incompetence and corruption. Because it's not a mere coincidence. The toleration of incompetence and corruption is consequence of what the Republicans have come to represent--it is clear that they do not care about the nation or its citizens, they want to use the levers of power to enrich themselves at our expense. The proposed dismantling of education for instance is intended to create an ignorant populace that lacks the cognitive tools to understand why the Republicans are screwing them over.

The strategy is make the Republicans own ever shitass thing Trump does. It's nice that the Republicans so far seem more than happy to do exactly this.

Most of the blame here I think lies at the feet of the media--for the most part they have not, and will not cover this story. It's yet more evidence that most of the media is pro-Trump.

VA Governor candidate Northam has an attack add against him claiming that he holds responsibility for the rise of MS13 because he voted for sanctuary cities. My 12 year old ask if that is true. I explained sanctuary cities, and how allowing non-citizens to exist in the US means that MS13 is allowed to be here by extension... he declared the because it is a because of this then take that leap its a logical fallacy. What are they teaching on those horrible public schools?

She goes on to just take the fake news with FAKE NEWS. Too much Russia, too much impeachment, too much collusion, not the issues. She said, why has Bernie, Hilliary, and Pochanas not tweeted about Vegas (I am sure they did). Why doesn't CNN have a bump stock graphics? That is actually not a bad question, NBC has one, and it was the first I actually saw it, but it is just spinning away from the topic. CNN is against the president! HAVE SOME RESPECT. HE spent a whole day in Las Vegas meeting with First Responders, true heroes, and victims.

AP, HARRISBURG - A Pennsylvania judge said Wednesday that his court was unlikely to decide a civil case challenging the constitutionality of the state's congressional district maps in time to affect next year's elections.

Commonwealth Court Judge Dan Pellegrini did not immediately rule after the hearing on a request to delay the case while the U.S. Supreme Court weighs the role of partisanship in drawing legislative district lines.
The judge also put off consideration of a separate request by several Republicans who are active in political campaigns, seeking to join the litigation.

Pellegrini said he saw his role as teeing up the lawsuit for consideration by a full panel of the court, which could involve a trial. But he said it was not likely to be resolved before the spring primary season, and any appeal to the Supreme Court would extend it further.
Jason Tochinsky, a lawyer for legislative Republican leaders who are among the defendants, said the case could be affected by how the U.S. Supreme Court rules in a challenge to Wisconsin's legislative districts, argued on Tuesday.

Republicans currently represent 13 of 18 congressional districts in Pennsylvania, despite winning only about half the statewide votes in the past three elections.

David Gersch, representing the plaintiffs, said they were willing to strip down the case a bit in order to get it resolved more quickly.

the goal of the Republicans is to beat out the clock. There's SB 22 and HB 722 in the legislature that they say they can't act on until this lawsuit is decided (they can act on it). Said bill has to be passed in two consecutive legislative sessions before it can get on the ballot as a yes/no for the voters in order to change the PA Constitution. Delaying the lawsuit will push the bill to another session for its first possible passage.
