You mean, Trump was right, wiretaps PROVEN!

I should be used to it by now, but it's still weird to see not just a different spin, but a different story.

The details of the story are so damning & don't fit this narrative at all. Amazing if/when they try to push it.

The wiretaps PREDATE him working for Trump. And were legally obtained.

They will easily confuse their base because people will think Trump being caught on tape means he was wiretapped, no matter if it was Manafort being tapped or not. It's exactly the kind of thing that will work for people who are only half paying attention or aren't very bright. This is so easy to blame on Obama.

and there was a FISA warrant and wiretap in place for much of the past 2-3 years. Yikes.

How about we tax specific casino billionaires who pay 10x the amount a newspaper is worth so they have a propaganda mouthpiece?

Dana Rohrbacher is one weird dude:
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher said someone leaked information about his call this week with White House chief of staff John Kelly, possibly to undermine his ability to speak directly with President Trump about WikiLeaks.

The Republican congressman from California spoke with Kelly on Wednesday regarding his recent meeting with WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange in London, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday evening, and broached a possible trade.

Rohrabacher reportedly used the word "deal" in his conversation with Kelly and said Assange would get a pardon or "something like that" in exchange for information files on a data-storage device showing that Russia did not hack Democratic emails that WikiLeaks published last year during the 2016 campaign.

"He would get nothing, obviously, if what he gave us was not proof," Rohrabacher told Kelly, according to the Journal.

Rohrabacher said after his August meeting with Assange that WikiLeaks could disprove the conclusion of U.S. spy agencies that Russia was responsible for hacking Democratic emails, and that he would seek a meeting with Trump to discuss the information.

This is a fun with statistics piece about who gets what from the federal government that I pulled the figures below from.

Your top 11 (because of my including Az) most federally dependent sates by some measures are:

1 Kentucky
2 Mississippi
3 New Mexico
4 Alabama
5 West Virginia
6 South Carolina
7 Montana
8 Tennessee
9 Maine
10 Indiana
11 Arizona

If you flip it to view as resident dependency (Return on taxes paid to the Federal Government) you get a similar list:

1 North Dakota
2 South Carolina
3 New Mexico (same)
4 Alabama (same)
5 West Virginia (same)
6 Kentucky
7 Mississippi
8 Indiana
9 Hawaii
10 Alaska

Per usual, the places making the most noise about freeloaders are the primary beneficiaries of taxes paid by other Americans.

Pelosi brokers deal to get a DREAM bill, gets protested over it for not going far enough:
In a dramatic exchange in her home town of San Francisco, Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Reps. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) and Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) appeared at an event designed to call on Congress to immediately pass the Dream Act, bipartisan legislation that would enshrine legal protections for hundreds of thousands of “dreamers” into law. But after Pelosi spoke, about 40 protesters walked up to the front of the room and started shouting, taking over an event where Lee, Huffman and other activists had yet to speak.

She had just recounted to the crowd details of a dinner meeting last week with Trump and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) where they discussed crafting an agreement that would couple the Dream Act with unspecified plans to bolster security along the U.S.-Mexico border. The deal would allow the roughly 700,000 people enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program to stay in the country after the program ends in early March. Trump pulled the plug on the Obama-era program last month, calling on Congress to make the legal protections permanent by law.

sigh, i get where they're coming from but a protest like this doesn't really help much IMO. perhaps i'm wrong but it looks like they're shouting her down instead of letting her respond.

Sort of looked like the new normal where a town hall devolves into shouting. Up to, and including, her departure it looked like it could have been any other town hall for any other elected official. It also made it into a validation for not having these events for those who want to have an excuse.

Sen. Pat Roberts, Republican from Kansas, said everyone is aware this is the last shot. "We'd like to do something and something's better than nothing"

I like how that thinking goes... Its the kind of HS logic that gets you a solid F.

Then again, John Thune commentary is a little strange, unless grave robbing, and resurrecting the dead is a new positive:

"He's (Cassidy) the grave robber," Thune said. "This thing was six feet under and I think he's revived it to the point where there's actually a lot of positive buzz and forward momentum"

he called Ukraine 'The Ukraine'

he seems really upset that Iran is holding to the letter of the deal, because his trigger finger is itchy as hell.

the biggest thing is him declaring we may have no choice but to destroy North Korea, a country with 25 million people and next to one of our biggest allies. and Trump called Kim 'Rocket Man' at the fucking UN

and now some countries 'major portions of the world are in conflict and some in fact are going to hell"

Trump is the uber Republican. all the things that the so called civilized north easterner "elite" GOP crave but are too timid to fully articulate are laid bare. a perfect storm of Neocon destructive, never ending war foreign policy, plutocratic starve the poor to feed the rich economic policies, and good old fashion middle-American crippling hatred and fear of the other.

I can't tell if his election has awakened something on the left and we'll still see a lot of fight when we get a 'normal' republican in office or if it'll be 'well it's not trump, we'll count that as a win!'

Trump is only pro-war when he's in charge. He's perfectly happy to be anti-war when not in charge. He doesn't think deeply about these things.

It doesn't really matter what he says at any point, it's what he does. & what he's doing is increasing our military spending, increasing operations & bombing missions, increasing civilian kills. he's looking to add more fronts to our multiple front wars that Bush brought us and Obama nurtured and expanded.

Trumps kids liked his UN speech. They really, really liked it. Broke out a whole suitcase full of adjectives to describe how much they liked it. Who fucking cares what they think?

Haven't seen (nor will I) any of their commentary, but I'd assume that it's the same 5 or 6 adjectives repeated over and over again, right?
