I for one am looking forward to the end of day light savings time. In addition to the extra hour of weekend, I'm at the point where getting up at 7 and seeing it still dark gets to be a drag. I know people like the extra hour of daylight in the evening, but at some point the movement of the planet's axis means there can be only so much daylight.

Given all that, rather than extending DST an extra week like Bush did, I propose moving the clocks back sometime towards the end of September. This I think has two advantages--first, we don't have to wake up in the dark. Second, we do't notice quite as much the fact that it gets dark earlier. Sunset would come around 6:15 or so, which isn't quite as rough as shifting it all of a sudden to which is what happens in November. Obviously, it will still be getting dark then, but it will happen gradually, not all at once.
