Watched low rated @Morning_Joe for first time in long time. FAKE NEWS. He called me to stop a National Enquirer article. I said no! Bad show

Cory Booker (48) has also been getting a lot of screen time lately too
I'm not 100% sold on Booker for some reason, but he's growing on me. I think the lack of bench argument is a fallacy though, just like the "Democrats stand for nothing but not-Trump."
I think the lack of a bench argument is quite real.
I have 2 points here: Republicans spent time and effort building statehouse legislative majorities so they could gerrymander voting districts at the local level starting in 2010. Consequently you have stuff like the 66-34 Republican advantage in the Virginia House, in a state that's consistently voted Democrat for statewide offices and the President over the past decade.
Secondly, Republican local officeholders are very good about supporting other Republicans for other local offices. For instance, the Republican Congresswoman near me, Barbara Comstock, is in a district that went for Clinton, but Comstock is consistently supporting local Republicans for state legislature, county board of supervisors, county school boards and other local offices. She helps make sure Republicans win those offices because then there are no Democrats making a name for themselves at the local level and no one on the bench with enough following to challenge her for her House seat.
I think both situations are happening all over the country.

Poor babies! Who would expect to go into politics and be criticized? So unfair! Especially when all you're doing is things like trying to relieve 22 million of their burdensome healthcare while giving a handout to needy billionaires.
This persecution of conservative politicians has just got to stop or they may cry. They should be treated with the same kindness and deference the media always shows to Dems like the Clintons.
(OTOH Conservatives could just grow up and grow a pair.)
