What a fucking moron. All of his ridiculous policies have been based on GDP growth that no sane person is predicting.

Trump sums it all up: “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.”

You know what will help cash strapped/debt-ridden America? Cutting taxes and ending PBS!

I think the democratic party and sabermetrics have a lot in common in that both are probably on the correct side of history regarding most things, but neither of the two as a group can articulate a simple narrative or effectively build a brand

Conservatism, which was terrible to begin with, got cancer when Fox News was started. It's malignant now and will never recover.

The problem with the 'dems just need to message' is that there is no message to reach these people. They are constantly fed lies and conspiracy theories and thrive only on liberal tears now. They'll never come around as long as democrats champion things like gay rights and planned parenthood. There are some moderate ones out there but even they hate poor people enough to never pull the blue lever.

It's not "those people" they need to reach. I think it's the people who have tuned out to politics in general and don't bother voting. Dems got 3 million more votes but it should have been even higher and with the way demographics are going in this country, the margin should only increase from here. A story to tell would help

Yeah, getting the base and non-likely voters to turn out is the right idea, i think.

I know they don't want to hear that their industry is dying and they want to blame anyone and anything besides that the industry is dying and automation is taking their jobs. They want to blame President Obama, the Paris Accord, etc. It's frustrating.

As I may have posted about on here before, I lost my college girlfriend to a type of brain cancer most found in elderly men. She had no family history of it, but she did grow up literally blocks from a "poses extreme threat to health and safety" zone on a map of unremediated abandoned coal mines.

While it's difficult to directly tie the two together in one specific case, I can't for the life of me understand why people would willingly want to put people (back) in harm's way when alternative sources (and associated jobs) are available.

Trump named Youngstown, Detroit, and Pittsburgh - he lost all three counties that house those cities.
