I mean, it seems China is committed to leading in climate change, but India may be more hesitant to stay fully committed.

I know that's the real reason but what is, say, Ted Cruz's reason for supporting this
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

White House will argue Paris climate pact would cost US economy $3T and 6.5M jobs over next several decades; and "decapitate" coal industry.

These people are morally bankrupt and it is increasingly depressing how much people buy it. I will not pretend understand the emotions of a coal worker. I know they don't want to hear that their industry is dying and they want to blame anyone and anything besides that the industry is dying and automation is taking their jobs. They want to blame President Obama, the Paris Accord, etc. It's frustrating.

What I really can't understand is the ignorance towards this plain and simple fact (as written in yesterday's WSJ):

In the past six years, hundreds of coal mines have shut nationwide, putting thousands of miners out of work. The main reason is that coal used by power plants has come under intense competition from cheap natural gas.

...how is this not a very simply understood concept?

Because an entire party has been lying about it for years in order to rally their base.

Coal is more expensive than natural gas because of all the regulations that Obama put on it.

On CNN Van Jones was just lamenting how poorly the Democrats have done in conveying that fact and the economic advantages of clean energy as a whole. Despite how much we progressives may want it to get better there still seems to be little to no progress in Democrats articulating the progressive cause. There's barely a hint of real leadership coming from the party.
