I wish the whole covfefe thing would go away. I've been in the same boat where a misspelled tweet that can't be edited was out there haunting me. And empathizing with Donald Trump makes me more than a little sick inside.

my god, i agree with a trump.

i dont want her to 'go away' except that she just gives them a dumb rallying point to keep going back to the election. it's now june 2017. his administration is on fire. stop giving him a rope to say 'OMG ELECTORAL COLLEGE VICTORY!! #MAGA!'

so, maybe go away. i didn't dislike her like a lot of people, but a lot of people dislike her. let's move on, everyone, including the Hillarystans that are apparently still out there and the Berniestans that for some reason still live in the primary. PLEEEEEEASE, REAL SHIT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING

This is basically what I mean. There's probably still a lot of good she can do for the world. Going to Recode and slamming the DNC and tweeting cofefe tweets at trump is not it.

No Pac, she needs to go away. Its time for Grannies and GranPas to get to retirement and let a next generation take control. Hillary is smart and experienced, but who thought we would be voting for the 70+ crowd to lead the nation? I do not think that Bernie, Donald, or Hillary represent my thinking well, and they have +/-25ish years on me. I was much more comfortable with Obama in grasping the world as it is today. So Hillary can become an elder stateswoman and exert influence from the edge. Be a sage advisor, and power broker. Maybe Madeline Albright is a good model for her to look at. Whatever it is, she is an impediment to moving forward in her current state.

i listened to an interview with Bernie yesterday and I don't think he'd be a great president but he's a pretty darn good senator. i don't think i ever listened to an interview with a politician where they turned around and started asking the interviewer a bunch of questions about their area of expertise.

he's also probably more in tune with what 20 somethings think than other 70 year olds. i think he's not nuanced enough in his thinking but it's good to have someone beating the drum in the Senate.

i don't want him to go away.

unfortunately Donald isn't going away since he's President.

Time to set aside the investigations, Putin said nothing happened:
"I can imagine that some do it deliberately, staging a chain of attacks in such a way as to cast Russia as the origin of such an attack," Putin said. "Modern technologies allow that to be done quite easily."

"I'm deeply convinced that no hackers can radically influence another country's election campaign," he said. "No hackers can influence election campaigns in any country of Europe, Asia or America."
Putin added that while the Russian state has never been involved in hacking, Russia-West tensions could have prompted some individuals to launch cyberattacks.
"If they have patriotic leanings, they may try to add their contribution to the fight against those who speak badly about Russia," he said. "Theoretically it's possible."

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has called the House-passed health care bill a “great plan,” but a new poll finds that 3 out of 4 people in the United States do not believe it fulfills most of his promises.

The poll out Wednesday from the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation also found a growing share of the public concerned that the GOP's American Health Care Act will have negative consequences for them personally by increasing their costs, making it harder to get and keep health insurance, or reducing quality.

In the poll, only 8 percent said the Senate should pass the House bill as it is.

the base will never leave, however:
In the poll, 3 in 4 people said they don't think the narrowly-passed House bill fulfills most of Trump's promises. Thirty-five percent it fulfilled none of his promises, while 40 percent said the bill fulfills some Trump promises.

Only 4 percent said the GOP bill fulfilled all of the president's promises, while another 10 percent said it delivered on most of his promises.

Drilling down to Republicans, only 30 percent said the bill delivered on all or most of Trump's health care promises. Fifty-one percent said it fulfilled some pledges.

On the plus side for Trump and his congressional allies, the poll found that the GOP base continues to support the House bill, with 67 percent of Republicans saying they view it favorably. And a plurality of Americans — 42 percent — expressed support for Medicaid work requirements favored by the GOP

The poll found that Obama's law is more popular than the House plan. Forty-nine percent had a favorable view of Obama's overhaul, compared with 31 percent who had a favorable view of the Republican proposal.

I'll get it out of the way and say I agree first. But for those that don't agree, I'd be the number would drop significantly if the question included the information that a large number of people on medicaid are on it because they can't work. My brother has a genetic mental retardation and works 9 hours a week for 9 dollars an hour. If he ever loses that I'm guessing he's not working. Should he be off medicaid? Of course not.

STRONG AND STABLE:

The Tories’ hopes of gaining seats in London are dashed by a huge 17-point lead opening up for Labour. Instead, they could lose seats. Mrs May came out fighting with a speech in the North-East at lunchtime. “I have the determination and I have the plan,” she said, calling the election “the most important this country has faced in my lifetime”.
Asked who would make the best Prime Minister, 37 per cent picked Mr Corbyn and 34 per cent Mrs May. A survey taken just after the manifesto launches last month had Mrs May ahead by 38 to 32

i'd say its still pretty unlikely. but a lot of time left before the election.

it's very plausible that they lose parliament seats which on its own is LOL. her losing would be LMAO.

i very much buy into the theory that europe is repudiating trump for us. right and far right candidates have underperformed considerably. Macron aside (center-right)...as Fillion likely would have won if he wasn't a corrupt dingbat.

probably not because YouGov doesn't appear to be great at polling, but it's fun to think about

her not getting a government would be hilarious

The moral argument for universal health coverage is a simple one and if I were the Ds I'd be working heavily Christian areas with it to wear down opposition. It goes something like this:

Everyone can accept the notion that some jobs carry more responsibility than others, or require rarer talent than others, and the labor market values those jobs accordingly in the form of higher salaries for work that only a small number of people can actually do (the correlation between high pay and the "difficulty" of the job, measured by how many people are capable of doing it, is rarely all that precise, but let's run with this premise for rhetorical purposes).

However, basing someone's access to quality health care on their job is tantamount to suggesting that one life is worth more than another, that the CEO is more important to his family than the cleaning lady is to hers: that is a straightforwardly immoral premise - all lives are equal in the eyes of God, regardless of their individual talents, wealth, or job.

It is "universal health care coverage" because we are all of equal value to the universal observer - for the religious, this is God. Really no religion, Christian or otherwise, worth its salt would deny this.

(This really underscores why having health insurance originate from the employer is bound to create an immoral system - because while the cleaning lady is just as important to her family as the CEO is to his, it is fair enough to observe that the CEO is more important to the company than the cleaning lady is, and as they are, de facto, the insurer, they are naturally going to spend more to protect the more valuable asset - which is precisely why companies should not be making these decisions. It confuses worth as a laborer with worthiness of care as a human being).
"I'm in a bar with the games sound turned off and that Cespedes home run still sounded like inevitability."
