I'm with you on this & on voters showing up in '18. I'm not a fan of articles in which a reporter goes out and elicits quotes that support their pat narrative. drumpf got stuffed in NY State. Kasich kicked his ass among Manhattan Republicans; staten island was drumpf's NYC "stronghold", and even there it's hard to find the kind of people that AP reporter rounded up.

Yes, Pence is less likely to drop us into nuclear war, IMO.

I'll expand on why, if you are an American, you should want Trump should be removed from office ASAP.

All throughout 2016 on BSG, many folks were beating the drum about normalizing Trump's abhorrent behavior. He attacked the impartiality of a judge based on his ethnicity, encouraged violence at his rallies, suggested that his opponent should be in jail, and just said whatever popped into his mind with no thought about the foreign policy consequences. He exhibited a gleeful lack of curiosity on policy, and was proud of his ignorance on many issues. That's part of what people liked about him, that he said what was on his mind with no filter. He disregarded the traditional norms of behavior that we expect from someone running for President, and some people loved it. He was an outsider.

What has made America great? It's our norms and institutions. Our optimism. Our sense of independence, our moral compass. Our respect for law, and our separation of powers. Our traditional support of free markets over one favoring collusion and cartels.

The sooner Trump is out of office, the sooner that any replacement can go back to supporting the American institutional belief systems of respect for the rule of law, judicial independence, freedom of the press, respect for women and minorities, etc. Even if Pence is not ideal for liberal folks, Trump is awful for America, and erodes the principles that make America great. Elections have consequences, and 4 years of Republican control is the consequence of the 2016 loss. Let's hope it's not 4 years of Trump eroding our international standing, and weakening the traditions that have led to American excellence.

Congressman Mike Kelly wants to run against Bob Casey. That would be an ideal matchup for Casey, imo.

Health insurers are spineless conniving assholes who routinely whore out their grandmothers for pennies - but they're not wrong about this

Health insurers plan big Obamacare rate hikes — and they blame Trump

I'll note that I added the qualifier "from a strategic point of view."

From a moral, ethical, or good citizenship point of view, Trump should be toast. But I was being all dark room snifter of brandy and a fine cigar here. A clean, quick, relatively painless removal of Trump - not really possible, I realize, but let's imagine it was - in favor of Pence is not in the interest of the Democratic Party or the policies it supports.
