Ditto. As a former elected official, I know the personal sacrifice involved with serving in ANY elected office. I commend them for stepping up to serve their communities and wish them the best of luck in the general. We desperately NEED good people in office.

It was 15 months after the appointment of the special prosecutor and 10 months from the firing of the special prosecutor when Nixon resigned (so would've taken longer for actual impeachment and a trial in the Senate to occur). This was with a large Dem majority in both houses of Congress.

seems like it should because the WH screws up/does something illegal at a frenetic pace. however, congress is slower than ever, and the ball is in their court.

I no it is rhetorical, but no one is. The business of the people and the nation languish under clouds of drama, incompetence, and self interest. If there is a fire on a ship, all hands are assigned to controlling, containing, and extinguishing the fire, nothing is more important as saving the ship at sea. That is what is happening in the administration today and everyday. Somehow that fire has spread off the ship, like it happened in port, as other ships, structures, the dock, and, beyond comprehension, the water is fully involved.

The good news is that Paul Ryan is apparently explaining that all is well, and that he and the GOP led house have it all under control. They are driving the people's agenda, and doing good works. He is also towing the line for the WH using WH talking points.
