Someone, ask your local 3rd grader what happened:

I was going to terminate NAFTA last week, I was all set, meaning the six-month termination. I was going to send them a letter, then after six months, it’s gone. But the word got out, they called and they said, we would really love to…they called separately but it was an amazing thing. They called separately ten minutes apart. I just put down the phone with the president of Mexico when the prime minister of Canada called. And they both asked almost identical questions.

another awful interview!

http://time.com/4775040/donald-trump-ti ... president/

On the power of the Oval Office
I’ve done a lot with [Vice President] Mike [Pence] where we have a meeting in the [Roosevelt Room], we’ll have a lot of different people, labor unions, workers. ... We had Harley Davidson up. I’ll say anybody ever see the Oval Office? Nobody’s ever said they’ve seen the Oval Office. President Obama was different. He didn’t, not a lot of people invited in. Me, I invite people in. ... And it means something, the Oval Office. It means something to them. I’m telling you I’ve had big people, some of the biggest business people, you’ve seen it. They go in they’re like, they can’t believe it. And I’ve seen them cry. It’s weird.

what a fucking clown.

what does this mean

On why he struck Syria

I think we have to be a strong nation. I think we were being laughed at by the world. They’re not laughing anymore. When I saw that, I thought it was incredible. And then he called them child actors, and that was even, that was just a terrible disrespect.
I mean when he actually said they were child actors, who would even think of that? But I felt something had to be done. And the interesting thing is, a friend of mine who’s very much a warrior and a person over there, a general, said you know when they hit a barrel bomb right in the middle of a town, the kids are more brutally damaged, and people.
You have arms and legs and everything else laying all over the town where it is. A real problem too. But you know, it just seemed, when they start using gases, it’s something that is just terrible. But honestly barrel bombs are incredible when you see the damage done by these.
…My friend said to me that, he said you know it’s interesting, he said you hit them because of the gases but the barrel bombs are worse. He said what they do to people is unbelievable. You have arms and legs laying two hundred yards away.
And despite that there was something about the gases. It’s just terrible. And I guess it was also that he violated the deal that was done with Obama. He’s got gas all over the place. He’s got gas all over the place.

It's the Peronist model, and it's probably one of the few economic strategies that can take a 1st world economy and turn it into a 3rd world economy. Which in fact is pretty clearly the Republican plan.

On another front, a bunch of new polls came out, and while I don't buy Quinnipiac's 36% approval rating, as a whole they look pretty bad for the President, and I don't think any of them have yet registered the Comey stuff. Also, while much is made about the 1st 100 days, it's historically been between day 100 and day 150 that Presidents see their honeymoon come to an end and their approval ratings start to decline.

His ego is completely unchecked. His whole life he's had people telling him how awesome he is. The constant need for reinforcement and validation is just incredible. It must be exhausting to be his wife. No wonder she's stayed in NYC.

How does it feel to be Rothenstien today? He was asked to perform a review that got spun as a recommendation to terminate. It does not say that in the document, but he got played. He came in as a guy rebelling against partisanism, and comes out painted as a partisan schill. His reputation is marred because he was used as a trusted thinker who was viewed as a straight player and his name get permanently inked to Comey's dismissal.

He should make good on his previous threat to step down to save face.

Your move ace.

since Sessions recused himself Rothenstein can appoint special counsel
so if he really were that bipartisan he would be doing that

Ask Richmond, Rosenstein's no doubt a straight shooter, not political at all, he'd never think about stuff like that, at his level, and so forth, uh huh

Unless major Senate Rs call for it, it's not happening. But as stuff slides south, Lindsey Graham may decide it's his time to be an American hero

yes, and let's not forget that Comey was also supposed to be a straightshooter, until he helped hand the election to Trump by releasing that Clinton email junk.

There are no trustworthy conservatives anymore. They've been eaten by the base. You could see it in the house when all those votes to repeal ACA came home to roost.

I chuckled on and off for 10 minutes about that yesterday. Imagine if it was a democrat, what would the media be saying?
