He's followed the career path of most dumb people of coming from a family without any political standing or wealth and working his way up to be Speaker of the House. Hopefully he dumbs his way to the White House!

This is a good break down by Princeton professor on the short comings of Dem party, Obama, HRC and Bernie too. Good way of highlighting the class issues.

Not hyperbolic, very reasonable. Good narrative. Good analysis.

I'm not sure he fits the mold. I seems to me, based on the last 3 republican presidents (if you focus on Reagan's 2nd term), that the GOP prefers people who are idiots and/or senile and can be controlled by evil people behind the scenes. The puppet party. Norquist must be so proud.

the base is VERY upset...at the media's lies!!!!!:
Why is it that press accounts, Democrats such as U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer and poor loser, anti-Trump operatives can say half-truths or outright lies about President Donald Trump or any Republican, and the resulting, very natural response is described as an attack? If someone lies about me, I have every right to defend myself. Responding to a lie or a deliberately misleading statement is not an attack. Of course, when a Republican does that, it becomes an attack. The Democrats have been getting away with lies and half-truths for years thanks to the major media. The Associated Press is the leader in print. A response to Democrats' lies is called a denial, in order to continue casting doubt on the person defamed. Thanks to some weak-kneed legislators, Republicans have not responded enough to liberal lies, worried about what the press will say.
The media will never be happy with Republicans. Pick up a paper or watch national TV and you will get examples of anti-Trump bias every day. There should also be a housecleaning in the leftist, leaking State Department. Thanks to Trump, there will be more pushback. I hope Trump voters understand what is going on.

But while Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise told the Energy committee that while he is also waiting for a CBO score, he will not let "unelected bureaucrats in Washington" slow down the Republican promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Mr. Gyomber is a long time (crazy) letter writer to that rag, The Reading Eagle. Totally misinformed most often, and always completely partisan. Oh, the delicious irony. When I saw the signature it rang a bell. He has had some great ones over the years, and often manages publication over the holidays. FWIW, as a Leesport resident, he was also a member of the Township of Bern's Board of the Authority. He swung that around like a bat too. That was his legitimization!

There was an article about that floated yesterday. A rather focused attack on the CBO. Spicer and others basically calling it an incompetent organization. I just love that the high water mark is that you are ELECTED, because that somehow makes you omnipotent competent?

In related news, the GOP Friendly Washington Times (not even good enough to make it to rag status) runs this headline:
‘GOPcare’ and the self-destructing Republican Party

File under BUT OF COURSE

Pipeline steel is 40% Russian steel produced/reclaimed/etc. in Canada by a firm substantially owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, a close ally of Putin and a Trump family friend.

To be clear, one likely does not beget the other as there is no logical reason to associate the power of the president with a little radar blip like where the pipeline gets its steel. That would be even more unimaginable then xPOTUS wire tapp [sic] NextPOTUS

can't make this stuff up

US Marines deployed to Raqqa and there are dozens of Rangers positioned on the outskirts of Manbij (about 100KM from Raqqa). There are images of armor rolling that is either of these forces, but attributed as both.

Trump called for ground troops in Iraq & Syria about a year ago (March 16), so this is just making good on a campaign promise.

Flynn was still lobbying for Inovo BV AFTER the election with a focus on Gulen and didn't disclose it. Flynn had been an advocate of acquiescing to Erdogan on Gulen, despite no evidence of Gulen's involvement in the attempted coup. Erdogan is currently trying to change their constitution to keep him in power for even longer (thus why he was arresting so many, firing people, etc).

I think this is another example of the difference between the GOP base and the Dem base. If the Dem had a Trump equivalent candidate that got elected, and was actively destroying the party's value system and the country, and the Dems had a Speaker who was swallowing his integrity and embarrassing himself to accommodate this mentally ill president, the Dem base who opposed the President would want to eat him alive.
This is what a real tenderoni likes to do for you

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday threw cold water on President Donald Trump’s insistence that Mexico will pay for his proposed border wall.

“Uh, no,” McConnell said flatly, asked whether he thinks Mexico will foot the bill in an interview with POLITICO Playbook’s Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer.

BUT NOW THEY KNOW!!!

The defence officials told the Washington Post that the Marines were from the San Diego-based 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and that they had flown to northern Syria via Djibouti and Kuwait.
They are to set up an artillery battery that could fire powerful 155mm shells from M777 howitzers, the officials said.
A spokesman for the US-led multinational coalition against IS, Colonel John Dorrian, told Reuters news agency on Thursday that the artillery battery near Raqqa would help "expedite the defeat" of IS there.

we're so stupid, we told them we're coming and what we're doing!!!

Under President Barack Obama, US special operations forces were deployed to recruit, train and advise the SDF's Arab and Kurdish fighters. However, their numbers were limited to 500.
The Marines' deployment is considered temporary, so it is not affected by the cap.

The Army is already there because Turkey hates the YPG and Syria is itching to foucs on insurgents instead of ISIS. Once Raqqa falls this is gonna go to hell in a handbasket.

Thanks for the additional background on this guy, thephan. The letter definitely reads like the rantings of one of the local stooges. I will say this, there very well may be (and probably is) anti-Trump bias in the media everyday - that, however, does not mean that Trump is not a lying POS. And to his "hope", if Trumps voters understood what was going on, we wouldn't be seeing letters like Mr. Gyomber's.
