It sure seems like they're just going to try to fucking pass this thing. Trump is getting engaged, Mitch has promised to bring up whatever the House passes. I would be more excited if I was convinced it was good policy. I don't know a whole hell of a lot about health care policy, but most of the people whom I outsource my thinking to on the issue have reacted negatively.

If they do succeed in just ramming this through I will marvel at and applaud the brazenness.

Why would you applaud the brazenness if it brings bad policy? Yeah, you won!! Now we'll all suffer for it. Party before country once again.

Rounding up all muslims and placing them in concentration camps would also be brazen. Let's do it! Let's applaud!!

Too many bad Americans in the GOP right now.

Now that we've sufficiently debated this bill, they're going to vote on it in committee today.

In case you're wondering what the base thinks:
This country is in a unique situation. We have a strong-willed president and Republican control of both houses of Congress. The four major roadblocks we face in creating real change in this country are House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain. It was obvious on Nov. 8 that this country was ready for a change. Since then Republicans have secured wins in four blue states in special elections.
The major problem is that Republicans are too willing to reach across the aisle in an attempt to reserve a high level of support from constituents in their home districts. For Ryan, this is especially true, as he is from a strongly blue area. While I can understand the desire to remain employed, he and his cohorts have completely turned their backs to the will of the people. Democrats scream and protest at the slightest hint of impropriety by the Republicans while Republicans turn their backs on their own and refuse to say a word when Democrats do similar things.

These individuals need to realize that we the people have spoken, and their jobs are on the line. It is clear that we want a smaller, more constitutional government and that if they continue to oppose this, they may well be the next ones replaced.

ha. saw that huffpo story a couple of days ago. Bannon's cited the book too many times not to be 'invested' in its depravity. The mental illness installed in the White House is self-supporting

President Trump met with the founder of TMZ, Harvey Levin, to discuss exclusive television interviews, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Last Wednesday's Oval Office meeting, which was not mentioned on Trump's public schedule, reportedly lasted about an hour.

Sources told the Times that Levin was given a private tour of the White House before meeting with Trump.

Last fall, Levin interviewed then-President-elect Trump at Trump Tower in an exclusive Fox News special, "Objectified: Donald Trump."

According to the Times report, Levin is considering interviewing Trump a second time for an episode of the new show. It also reported another one of Levin's ideal guests would be New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who is a friend of Trump. Levin reportedly asked Trump to help him secure that interview.

callyoursenator.us / Great America is back up and running its scam. Derides Presidents who lied to America for decades (all Democrats), then jump cuts to the most honorable President ever, keeping his promises!

This is a place that tried to pick your wallet, sort of a spearfishing scam. Give its a scam, there is some perfection.

Youseff wrote:Trump also met with that ambassador despite constantly saying he had no contact with the Russians

“Russia is a ruse. I have nothing to do with Russia. Haven’t made a phone call to Russia in years. Don’t speak to people from Russia,” Trump said during a February 16 press conference. He said he contacts with Russia were limited to talking twice to Vladimir Putin after election day.
On February 20, Trump spokesperson Sarah Sanders flatly declared that the Trump campaign had “no contacts” with Russia.

Trump personally met with the Russian ambassador on April 27, 2016, prior to a major foreign policy speech. The Wall Street Journal, in a report that was little-noticed at the time but was recently picked up by AMERICABlog News, reported the meeting last year.
A few minutes before he made those remarks, Mr. Trump met at a VIP reception with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak. Mr. Trump warmly greeted Mr. Kislyak and three other foreign ambassadors who came to the reception.
Kislyak, according to multiple contemporaneous news reports, was seated in the front row. It was an invitation-only event.

the meeting in itself is not egregious, the lie/cover up is. why all the lying?

Wait, nyt says: The House plan also maintains many of the demands on insurers that the ACA has, including a suite of 'defined benefits' that all insurers must offer.

I thought those were removed? I mean the plan still sucks but at least they're there.

Together, they lead an “armada” of 800,000 impoverished Indians sailing to France. Dithering European politicians, bureaucrats and religious leaders, including a liberal pope from Latin America, debate whether to let the ships land and accept the Indians or to do the right thing — in the book’s vision — by recognizing the threat the migrants pose and killing them all.

Poor black and brown people literally overrun Western civilization. Chinese people pour into Russia; the queen of England is forced to marry her son to a Pakistani woman; the mayor of New York must house an African-American family at Gracie Mansion. Raspail’s rogue heroes, the defenders of white Christian supremacy, attempt to defend their civilization with guns blazing but are killed in the process.

Sounds pretty much like the European invasion of the Americas.
