Tax cuts that don't help the middle class (fun fact: my tax rate won't change as it currently stands). This is what ironic republicans sold their souls for. A speaker who doesn't seem capable of leading and tax breaks that won't impact them.
If they pass tax reform, all tax rates are going to change, and likely the standard deduction will get bigger. I'm not sure how you've arrived at the conclusion that your tax rate won't change as it currently stands.
the last tax information passed around my company had my tax rate the same today as tomorrow. and making the standard deduction greater doesn't really do much unless it's substantially higher than my current deduction.
so again, all fluff. no substance.

He took some harsh blows but I don't think he'll be ridiculed like the Utah and Arkansas guys last week. Still, it's striking to live in Texas and see well over a thousand people turn out to attack a Republican rep.

And incredible that the republicans have no plan after taking about a plan. Blind leading the blind.
This is why trump stays. He provides cover and signs whatever the republicans get to stick against the wall.

The House GOP has a plan. The one they talked about. And though you may disagree with its contents, it's not all fluff. Other Republicans have other ideas. Some members of the Senate don't like the Border Adjustment Tax. Individual senators have their own plans. They are going to have to iron out any differences before "Republicans" have a plan. Getting a congressional party on board when you can only afford a few defections on major legislation is hard. You would know this if you had started following politics before last week.
You have it just about backwards on Trump. First, he stays because he's the duly elected President of the United States. Second, he is not providing any cover. He offers only distraction and discord. He personally hasn't gotten involved, and his staff is reportedly divided on what the composition of tax reform should be. If the dysfunction continues there will be no signing of anything because nothing is going to pass.
