This. The president literally doesn't have the power to do this. If the FBI or intelligence committee was listening, it required a warrant. If either went off book to do it, that would be a different story. Doubt this would be leaking, even by trump, if it weren't above board.

What's coming is going to be massive, IMO.

If they pass tax reform, all tax rates are going to change, and likely the standard deduction will get bigger. I'm not sure how you've arrived at the conclusion that your tax rate won't change as it currently stands.

Maybe President Mr Trump has simply come out for FISA reform. Big, if true.

the last tax information passed around my company had my tax rate the same today as tomorrow. and making the standard deduction greater doesn't really do much unless it's substantially higher than my current deduction.

so again, all fluff. no substance.

but the standard deduction increase is meant to offset the elimination of lots of other deductions like mortgage interest and charitable contributions and stuff like that. So if the deductions works out to be a wash, and your tax rate doesn't change, then you're in the same boat, just painted a different color.

I never post in this thread or read it much since this my one internet safe haven from politics, but because i trust all the smart people on here...give me your takes on what is really gonna happen. I mean, he has to be going down in flames soon right? Please tell me he is. When will the Republicans finally agree they've milked him enough to enact their agenda to push him off the cliff? Pence won't be much better but at least he won't be a national embarrassment.
