Fox went in on Trump today. The generic midafternoon blond was flabbergasted as soon as the presser ended. Then Shep went ham.

Wonder how fox and friends will talk about he. Trump praised them as often as he could today.

Here is your reality check - Perfectly good and smart people I work with are lauding the press conference as an important step forward. The president did not hold back in letting the press know how he feels about them, and that's a good thing. There was no logical path that I could present that was not just slapped back by Trump excuses (i.e., what do you want he does not have a cabinet, the media is after him, etc.).

I need to put up a white flag at the office as that is not going to help anything, but it is reflective of how people are viewing this. Maybe I will fly it upside down.

Donny and Eric go to Dubai

from thephans's link:

For Trump, the costs come with an additional perk: Some of the money flows into his own pocket. While Trump has removed himself from managing his company, he has refused to divest his ownership, meaning that he benefits from corporate successes such as government contracts.

The Defense Department and Secret Service, for instance, have sought to rent space in Trump Tower, where leasing a floor can cost $1.5 million a year - though neither agency has disclosed any details. In addition, Trump's travel to his signature properties while trailed by a press corps beaming images to the world allows the official business of the presidency to double as marketing opportunities for his brand.

i see no possible resolution to this massive conflict of interest!

Club members pay $200,000 to join - a fee that has doubled since his election - and $14,000 a year to belong, giving them access to the beach, tennis courts, a spa and, now, on occasional weekends, to the president.

But Rep. Lois Frankel (D., Fla.), who represents Palm Beach, said Mar-a-Lago is a poor choice for a president's long-term home: an exposed oceanfront club on a narrow, busy island, where traffic problems were already routine.

"Mar-a-Lago is no Camp David," Frankel said. "It's not set up with the intention or the forethought of keeping the president safe."

The challenges for Mar-a-Lago as a presidential home were apparent from pictures posted on social media last weekend by club guests — including close-up images of the presidential limousine and a picture of a military official carrying the nuclear "football."

In one Instagram video recorded Friday night outside Mar-a-Lago, a woman fawns as men with earpieces inspect under the hood of a line of cars heading into the club, "The Secret Service is so hot."

what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!

screw you transgender people!!!! :
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott criticized the NFL for suggesting last week that the state could miss out on hosting another Super Bowl if a bathroom bill targeting transgender people is passed.

After criticizing the NFL for allowing players to kneel during the national anthem, Abbott said: "The NFL needs to concentrate on playing football and get the heck out of politics."

On Friday, in response to an email question about the Texas bill, which was filed last month, league spokesman Brian McCarthy said: "If a proposal that is discriminatory or inconsistent with our values were to become law there, that would certainly be a factor considered when thinking about awarding future events."

Said Abbott on Tuesday: "For some low-level NFL adviser to come out and say that they are going to micromanage and try to dictate to the state of Texas what types of policies we're going to pass in our state, that's unacceptable.

"We don't care what the NFL thinks and certainly what their political policies are because they are not a political arm of the state of Texas or the United States of America. They need to learn their place in the United States, which is to govern football, not politics."

i assume Gov Abbott will be turning money down from corporations and not inviting them a seat at the table to discuss bills. Wouldn't want them to stick their nose into politics.

Unless there's a new & perverted definition of "smart" abroad in the land, it is not possible for a smart person to have watched any 3 consecutive minutes of that display yesterday and laud it. No smart person wants that individual to be engaged to carry out any job of any kind.

and Mr. Abbott needs to stick with politcs and stay out of business. The NFL is a business and if this is what is good for the business, then the NFL must commit to its path, perhaps publicly if that best serves the brand.

Upset about damaging leaks of his calls with world leaders and other national security information, Trump has ordered an internal investigation to find the leakers. Staffers, meanwhile, are so fearful of being accused of talking to the media that some have resorted to a secret chat app — Confide — that erases messages as soon as they’re read.

If ANY of this is for business, it's illegal, no? I know hypocrisy no longer matters and up is down and black is the new white and all but they were very very upset about emails Clinton deleted. So now they are deleting messages instantaneously?

I mean of course they are, because nothing matters.

Ironically, telling players they can't kneel during the Anthem would be the opposite of "concentrating on football and getting the heck out of politics."

I wonder if trump holds another press conference any time soon.one the one hand, he has avoided them in the past, but on the other hand, his supporters did seem to like his trashing the media, so maybe he'll be encouraged to do more.
