also, the left was making it so his real voters couldn't get through

Fair point, but don't the issues with public schools in the cities far supercede the issues in rural districts?

drop out rates in rural areas are just as bad. there is an incredible achievement gap there too.

school choice isnt, as far as i believe, a legitimate answer. not everything works like capitalism. schools need to get better. we need to pay teachers more.

I read an article in the (scaling!) New York Times that a decent number of red state politicians realize this. I doubt it goes far
