There would have been tremendous narrative value in a larger popular vote win even in a loss. These space cadets in deep blue states still caused damaged.

Never understood why anyone thought his vote might be in play on DeVos. And the idea that the vote was precipitated by donations rather than the fact that he's supported disrupting the education establishment his entire political career is especially good. I imagine Bob Casey's teacher union donations aren't seen quite as instrumentally on the DeVos vote by most.

To be fair, Toomey has no spine and guiding principles, so there was a chance.

But he was called a coward and spineless here for voting for her, which seems like the action that required a spine and lack of cowardice.

The biggest reason I feel he is a coward is because he hides his votes. He didn't reveal his support of Trump until the 11th hour, the same with his opinion on DeVos and the Muslim ban EO. His phone line was also mysteriously busy at all hours of the day during these times, making him neigh impossible to reach by his constituents.

wouldn't any candidate Trump nominated been an advocate of school choice? I think the criticisms come from her demonstrating she's not familiar with basic concepts of the educational system and her buying a role in the administration. I know jersey doesn't think extreme amounts of money in politics is worrisome, but a lot of us find it worrisome.

Absolutely. I've said this here before but his aid said to myself and five other advocates/constituents that "we don't like to decide on things until a week before a vote."

That's code for we don't take a stand and go whichever way is politically more beneficial for us.

beyond being impossible to reach, he's also contemptuous of constituents by implying that they aren't even sincere in their concerns and playing with Mikey Flynn Jr. level conspiracy bullshit to justify his contempt.
