1- my sil and bil have a catering business and they get rave reviews for their brisket. And that's who cooked this on easter. So either their reviewers are just being nice or I just don't like it.

2- Trader Joe's pancakes are the best. Well, I haven't actually EATEN any since i've been LoCa since the wife started buying them, but the packaging and preparation are a breeze. no stupid boxes or inner wrap you need to rip open and try to secure again- just untwist, rip open one side of a sleeve (3 pans), spread on a plate and nuke for 60 seconds. My kid will have like 3-4 plates of those on a good day and it really makes life easier.

3- I will never have mission bbq brisket (nor any brisket), but the mission jalapeno cheddar sausage (i.e. kielbasa) is pretty awesome. Much better than Dickey's.

3a- even better than that is the "cheesy kabonosa" (i.e. "polish slim jim"; i.e. a skinny link of smoked hot kielbasa infused with cheese) from swiacki's is even more awesome. I may start a semi-weekly excursion to pick up 10 or 20 lbs of that as it's great loCA stuff.

Yeah. You know what else sucks...filet mignon. You might want to try to convert people on that as well.

In general, the advice to take things "one _________ (day, game, step, etc.) at a time" is not great advice. To succeed in most things, you need to think several steps ahead.

It's stupid to pay attention to the NFL draft, even if you're a fan of an NFL team.

I don't think it's stupid to follow the draft casually, its guys that are joining your team and going to be playing immediately in some cases so following it to see who/what positions you get is fine. I can't get into it beyond that though, watching prospect highlights, the combine, endless mock drafts all just seems too much to me as well.

Seriously, how many times do you have to hear who somebody THINKS that your team is getting? I don't even think they are correct all that often.

Is a game of make-believe for guys that would normally make fun of people who play games of make-believe.

Listening to someone's mock draft (with trades!) is equivalent to listening about a person's fantasy football draft pick by pick.

I agree with the sentiment, but as it relates to NBA mocks, I'm reading them because it's an organized way to read about the pluses and minuses of the next class of NBAers. It helps give me context when I see them play (6ers or other wise) and gives me a bit of rooting interest/personal investment.

I like the Phils' "Players Weekend" jerseys. Hate the hat, though.

This is wrong, because the answer is Journey.

Not a fan of The Boss either, outside of Nebraska, which is a great album.
