Standing Up-type Comedy

Enjoyed Birbiglia at Cherry Lane Theatre, which was so small he didn't use a mic. Mostly new stuff but a "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" bit as an encore

Said he's releasing the My Girlfriend's Boyfriend special in the next month or two on Netflix and on DVD

-dealing with "late people" (and then playfully scolding each person who walked into the show late)
-his very brief high school wrestling career
-hosting the IFC awards and telling a joke that made David O. Russell storm out
-the questions people feel entitled to ask you when you're married
-bringing his 17-year-old cat to a country house infested with zombie mice
-begging his wife to watch Top Gun -- "this is who I am" -- only to remember how homoerotic it is

etc

The gf and I have a work-related beef with him (basically, he's a dick) and he somehow winds up at 50% of the shows we go to.

I think that's Tompkins, but Hodgman is so freaking boring on the Best Show. I guess that's pretty much why I don't like him anymore

schaal was awful when she opened for FotC several years ago. i think she dressed up like a mattress. maybe her recent run of being on absolutely everything has allowed her to improve.

Her running show (Hot Tub) with Kurt Braunohler is some of the funniest shit I've ever seen. They put it on for the past 5 years or so in NY but now they just do it sporadically.

Saw him with Birbigs and Hedberg several years ago. He's much better if you don't know all of the songs ahead of time. I have only heard a couple of his new songs with that chick. I liked them. Totally different feel.

So I walk to the very top of the lawn to find pot and a security guy in the windbreaker rolls up so I sit back down real fast onto my blanket and he reaches down to give me a front row seat! Halfway into the Conchords set I get down there and Chappelle's main security guy gives me weed in the form of one of those Listerine breath strips, there's my weed.
