Standing Up-type Comedy

Joe Rogan had Dane Cook on one of his podcasts a while ago (maybe a month ago?) and Cook came off as a decent guy whose reputation was somewhat undeserved. He's still not funny though. :|

Dane Cook is the Crossing Broad of comedy
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

so Cook sells tickets even though another stand-up comedian is selling tickets as well but the tickets are for different sports but are sold by the same company and Cook didn't ask permission first?

RIP Greg Giraldo. He was definitely a top 5 (for 2010) standup IMO

thre's always a popular comedian i don't get, and Louis CK is that guy right now. i think Burr is way funnier than he is. as much for personality as for material.

gr - Monday Morning Podcast, download it.

Right now I'd say Burr, Chappelle, Louis CK are my current top three

i've been on the MMPC bandwagon for over a year now. right after i quit my job, i listened to 3-4 a day.

been doing the never not funny podcast alot. not a big fan of jimmy pardo's standup, but he is great as the host.

Brian Regan is so normal, so toned down, so inoffensive, so uncool, and still, so damn funny.

I guess Patton Oswalt is my favorite comedian but it seems like he'd be no fun to hang out with. Brian Regan seems like he'd actually just be awesome to have lunch with or something.
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

anyone else see Mike Birbiglia last night at the Keswick?

probably one of the funniest stand up acts i've ever heard. his entire act was one giant story that evolved over years of his life. completely hilarious and so well put together that it came out as one incredible story. i can't put the correct words together to portray how absolutely incredible it was.

i've seen birbigs a few times now in a few different ways: host, opener, and headliner. i guess he's touring his one-man show, "sleepwalk with me", based on what you just said. i saw it up in new york last year, and yes, it is fantastic.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

yea, with my ticket purchase came the book "sleepwalk with me." wasn't interested in reading it prior to see him. but after seeing his show i can't wait to sit down and read it. if his story telling can even close in print as it was live i'll be walking away happy.

1, did you see this current tours of stand up material, or was it something different? (this was about jenny his wife and some middle school girlfriends)

no, i haven't seen him since whenever the one-man show was. it might be a couple years now.
