When I lived in the city I worked only a few blocks away and walked by there almost on a daily basis, its pretty surreal.

It always astounds me at how there are people who run towards the fire and explosion to do their job. Honestly, if I was in their position I want to think that I would, but I'm not sure.

KYW Newsradio is doing good coverage if you are near a radio..they have been switching back between CBS News as well as the local Boston affiliate for their live coverage..it is pretty good because Boston News Radio has the reporters right there on the scene..

The combo of Boston, Patriot's Day, tax day and the Kennedy library certainly makes it feel like a domestic incident, but I've certainly been wrong before. Just such a shame and a tragedy, first and foremost certainly for those killed and injured and those closest to them. But I'm not going to lie, I also feel for those who I know worked long and hard to run the race and are left only with a memory destruction, mutilation, mayhem, sadness and disappointment.

Was definitely a little nervous walking through the city and riding the El this afternoon. Such a horrible tragedy. The pics are just heart breaking. Ughhh.

Sometimes there is no news. People are dead or hurt. They don't know who did it. Other than sorting out a few people I know and haven't heard from, I'm not sure what there is out there for me to learn.

it's an absolutely imbecilic question given the circumstances

listening to 1030 WBZ AM on my way home (great coverage), the 3rd incident at the JFK library that had been mentioned by the boston police commissioner earlier now appears unrelated

It's just awful. While my thoughts are with the runners I know up there, I'm sure most of the dead or injured were just spectators patiently waiting for Mom or Dad or or Sis or Brother or one of their friends to finally cross the line so they could celebrate. They're all innocents, every single one of them.

yea absolutely, its not relevant. but i wonder how much of an affect this will have on spectators and runners over the next year.

cnn's erin burnett, interviewing an on-scene eyewitness: "so it's changed your life, right?"

and yet I would guess her annual pay amounts to more than several of us earn put together
