I can easily see him attempting to imitate every single facet of Doc's game, which might be good, its just a shame he hasn't the stuff to even come close to being a tenth as good as Doc.

Suppose Doc helps Kendrick become a useful pitcher? That would be so mega.

The Halladay as mentor/role model thing is interesting in a couple respects. Hopefully Kendrick grasps that the realistic, achievable goal isn't "pitch to the same results as Roy Halladay," but rather "maximize your abilities the way Roy Halladay has, through relentless hard work."

The first idea might have been what tripped up Burrell in 2003. I remember reading that after Thome came over, Burrell was constantly comparing himself to Thome, trying to mimic his habits and approach and style, and we know how Pat's 2003 season went.

In any event, Roy is a hell of a lot better role model for KK than Brett Myers was.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I still believe in Kendrick and his ability to get a very solid #5 pitcher. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid I guess.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Hopefully Halladay can teach Moyer to throw a 91 mph cutter with sick movement

I think developing a functional cutter would do worlds of good for Kendrick.

I think it was Ibanez who said that the sinker-cutter combo is the major reason Halladay is so good -- they start in the same place and go completely different ways.

Hell I'd take an 81 MPH at this point.

Actual conversation I had with a friend tonight:

Him: "Would you fluff Roy Halladay for 2010 season tickets?"

Me: (Without hesitation) Yes, absolutely.

Him: "What about for the Sunday plan?"

Me: (With slight hesitation) Yeah.

this doesn't really say anything about your value for season tickets or a sunday plan, because we know what those cost in dollar terms. this only talks about your relatively small disutility for fluffing roy halladay, which seems to be under $500 for sure. everybody has a price, but yours seems closer to market prices than you probably think

I suspect most Phillies fans would fluff Halladay for nothing.

SN: You don't want to be a mentor to the Phillies' young pitchers?

Halladay: I want to continue to play the game. I feel like I'm still a player; I'm not a coach. I enjoy being involved with the guys, talking with them. I don't feel like a coach; I feel like a player talking to another player. I hate preaching to guys like that because a lot of guys don't respond to that. I'm there for the guys, but I'm not a mentor. To me, that's the best avenue.

I think you may be overestimating the percentage of gay Phillies fans.
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

Being willing to fluff Roy Halladay doesn't make you gay. It makes you normal.

There's no way to bid online, but CBS3/CW57 teamed up with Ronald McDonald House for a fundraiser this evening and one of the prizes was Halladay eating lunch with the winner and 18 friends :!: plus tickets to a game later that day

areas too Canadian nowadays
Why not just go storm Normandy and get shot in the face while you're at it
Why not get a plumbing license and run around high on shrooms stealing peoples' pocket change
